as an ironman who recently got his achievement dairy cape, i can tell you that its def worth it. probably one of the best items in the game. and the elite rewards from most dairies are absurdly op
I wouldn't set elite diaries as the next goal after the quest cape. The gap between quest cape and elite is huge, and its easy to get overwhelmed. Obviously you should still be working towards them in the long run, but set your sights on some thing closer. I recommend going for hard diaries and a music cape first, and a fire cape if you haven't already. Another goal that I don't see people talk about is getting all the requirements for master clues. At this point you should be close enough to elites that they don't feel like an impossible task.

I use a mix of the orb of oculus (you can buy from diango in draynor for 60 gp) & the detached camera plugin in runelite, for movement I just had my friends click specific tiles so they would align correctly - you can also try to cast a spell on someone without having runes in your inventory and it will force your character to look in a specific direction

Im 1 quest away from the cape, after that im going for the hard diaries im missing (not many extra reqs than the qst cape) + some raids and whatever bosses i can do. Followed the optimal quest guide and if im being honest i barely grinded any lvls, quests give enough xp in the begining to not have to train anything at all and when you do need to, its not that much (cons and mining being the exceptions imo). Plus you unlock all content with the minimun stats to try everything a couple times, once you find something you like just grind a bit to make that specific activity easier.
Quest cape ---> pvming for 2000h ish ---> go for max cape on small pvm breaks or downtime. Game completed make ironman That's the path i've took and fuck the game's awesome

It felt like, i need to start from the beginning. I did 100 quests and decided that questing isn't fun at all for me. It's just so hard to not feel like you're loosing time in this game. I know, that not everyone feels like that, but im sure that a lot do. But videos like yours really never helped me to get over that feeling. I love the game and i want to play it but absolutly everything feels so useless. I wish, someone would made a full progression guide for a recommneded way to play. Right now i decided to get all my stats to base 70, 80, 90 and then 99. This is actually fun, because i get to do something else every 10 levels and can play song of the elves then. If the quest doesn't change my mind, i probably stop playing.
Would you have interest in a detailed video that would be say like 1 hour+ that is like a full recommendation of everything you should do from a brand new account to a maxed account? I've been thinking about writing something like this that would give you steps all the way through an account

You are wrong about the battlestaves, if you buy them for 7k from zaff you can simply dump them on the ge you'll lose money. Add orbs onto them and alch them. Easy exp and money.

grind base 70s tbh. will lead you in many ways, then get unreadable combat gear like torso fcaoe void and mage cape
Quest cape, untradeables, slayer/combat up with skilling on the side.

Osrs has some of the most underrated progression system. Another game that has great progression is stardew valley
