I've watched a lot of these and noticed that the 50/50 option is total rubbish because the so called computer always chooses the 2 closest options which are never random!
0:38 A slight lapse from Chris. Although he doesn't directly give anything away about the answer, it's possible that by confirming that David Prowse was the Green Cross Code Man it could indirectly provide information which could encourage her decision by reassuring her that she was thinking of the right person. I know it's no big deal in this instance, but strictly speaking he did provide a degree of assistance. Which has got me wondering, what was the highest value question that he ever helped a player on? I suppose I'm more talking about when he used to basically just tell them the answer, but I'd include indirect assistance too. In this episode we do have that example of unintentional help for £2,000. So I wonder if that's the upper point where he somehow helped, even if only in a minute way, or if it ever occurred on a higher amount?
I had not thought about it but did at the same time because in one way in another it was just colour context to the name but in the scope of the show it felt a little close. after you brought it up I thought about it and noticed as Im typing this that it is not the only thing that seemed not so much off or wrong but odd
I know it's my imagination running wild, but I like to think if I was on WWTBAM, my phone-a-friends could have maps, lists of Kings and Queens, FA cup winners etc all over the walls of their houses. When a question about a subject comes up, I tell the host I'd like to ring Dave, or 'Paw Patrol', as that's his nickname. When Chris says let's call Dave, I ask Chris to address him as 'Paw Patrol' when he answers, because it will be funny. Actually, 'Paw Patrol' is our code for 'the question is about Geography, so go and stand in front of a map and have an Atlas to hand BEFORE I get to speak'. The host does so, then asks Dave where 'Paw Patrol' came from, buying time for Dave to get himself ready. He makes up some daft reason about the origin of the nickname, so by the time I get to speak, Dave's in position, with maps in front of him on the wall, and Atlases in hand, and the host has no idea about how helpful they've been...

For a higher end question, it is still better than any other lifeline.
