How to spot fake Levi's 501 Jeans
Original Levi's 501 jeans cost $110, the price of fake jeans varies between $30 - $50.
The first safety element to identify fake Levi's 501 jeans is the fixed leather label on the back... the original color is brown, compared to the fake one which is yellowish... more carefully inspect the company logo, it must be perfect, without wipes or extra material or paint, everything must be in its place, such a big brand will never make such mistakes...
The original removable black label has the company's logo in the center in bright red, compared to the fake one which is located in the upper right and is of a more faded red color... see the video, like the text 100% cotton / 100% cotton is missing from the fake label.
Carefully inspect the non-removable red label on the back of the jeans, it must show the LEVIS text on both sides, fakes only show it on one side... see in the video.
The original buttons of the jeans must be inscribed with the text levis strauss co cal sf, on fakes we do not find this aspect... see in the video. The fastening system of the buttons is different, the original has two holes compared to the fake one which does not have this aspect... moreover, the original iron buttons are inscribed with vlr1. if this inscription is missing, then you are surely dealing with some fake Levi's jeans.
Another safety element to distinguish original Levi's 501 jeans is the non-removable inner label, on the original we find it with the text quality clothing levis premium san francisco cal, on the fake we do not find this aspect.
The fixed white inner label with the serial number can only be found on the fake, on the original there are 6 non-removable labels, the last one shows the serial number and the batch... attention, the serial number on the inner non-removable label must be identical to the serial number of on the black removable label, if this safety element is not present, then you are surely dealing with a pair of fake Levi's 501 jeans.

I can remember when original Levis were made "shrink to fit". Meaning you had to buy the pants 4 inches longer and 2 inches wider. Then, wash before wearing. Many just tucked the ends up or cut the 4 inches. Some bought the exact width and cut the length and never washed them. I remember some even shined, maybe even stunk.
Be practical original or fake doesnt matter ,whats important is you got something to wear,
They are the double x, shrink to fit Levis jeans. The paper tag( card stock) at the back pocket gives you the information that it will shrink at least 3 inches in the waist and 4 inches in the inseams. You have to soak it overnight and let it hang dry or better yet, throw it in the dryer before wearing it…i got those in the 80’s.. those were the days when Levi’s are still made in the US.
A few days ago I bought a pair of jeans from a Livais store.
The small red fabric tag of the livais is, as seen in the 2.36 of the video, i.e. an imitation.
And I'm thinking how is it possible that they sell fakes in libais stores?
1992 when I was in San Francisco California I bought at the Levi's store in front of the Wells Fargo Bank a pair of Levi's jeans. They measure my waist, length and they costumised my pants according to my size. Now for me that's the original
Yes, and they used to guarantee the Levis . The store would replace the Levis if anything went bad, like the zipper or belt loop, anything. Needless to say, I never experienced any defect on a pair of Levis. I just "out grew" them. (smile) 😎@@allanapat8553
Many products are produced in one factory - only one is "real " and other "fake". I saw bread production in London. One bread - only at the end of production line one bread was packed in "supermarket cheap brand" , one in branded cover ( 2 times more expensive bread ). Plastic cover also produced by one company. So only price was different.

In Turkey you could by fake Levi's of differing quality, but if you bought the top quality ones they were identical to the real one's in every way, Levi's were made there and I think genuine denim and all the parts were "lost" from the factory and were recreated in a different cloning factory.

I have always cut off the leather tag over the right rear pocket, and I have to say it’s never been easy to do, regardless of where they were made. However, my biggest 11:05 gripe with Levi’s today is that the zipper goes down so far that the pull tab gets lost in the crotch and has to be fished out with needle nose pliers.

У меня есть юбилейные Левис из магазина Братья Брукс! Там они 10 лет назад стоили $200 и отличаются от 501 тем, что имеют среднюю посадку и кожаный патч, другая печать на внутреннем х/б кармане! А вместо болтов - замок YKK

Well, first of all levis has many series on their product by series I dont refer to cut like 501, 511, and soon. Series which I mean is like the most expensive one is made and crafted in japan, the premium jeans which produced on "a little bit expensive labour country" like the one you show as real and the cheapest which is usually produced on cheap labour country like on south east asia or turkey. You will find many differences among them. I cant actually said the cheap one is fake because the price is actually decent for cheap labour country production levis.
I bought three pair one pair wouldn’t fit me. The other two pair one the straddle ripped out and the other the belt loops broke. In the 70s my cousin would pass them down to me. With a patch in the knees they would last for years. Now. Junk.

Amazon has some sellers selling counterfeit items
I remember products being “high end” or “boutique brands” and from the same manufacturer they would make “irregulars” that are sold at warehouse stores. I don’t see it as “fake”; I see it as products made with cheaper materials for mass production. The “real” products are made with expensive products for exclusive production. IMO. Same manufacturer, different demographics of shoppers.

Levi's, the inventors of blue jeans, don't even have a factory in the United States anymore. I wouldn't waste a damn dime on that crap. American made jeans, at one time, were sought by people worldwide.

У меня в середине 80х были джинсы Levi's деним - из штатов, и микровельвет из Англии. Сестра мне купила по случаю. Деним из штатов, был голубого цвета, шовная нить была оранжевой, и структура ткани другая, чем сейчас - там как-будто крест на крест нити шли.Это более плотная вязка и держится ткань дольше. Микровельвет был темно-синий, и очень мне нравился. А сейчас, что настоящие, что подделка вообще хрен знает что. И ткань другая, и цвет некрасивый.

Хотел тоже это написать, но не стал заострять - у меня были привезенные из загранку джинсы Ливайс(Левис) в начале 80х.Темно-голубые,и ткань была даже с виду другой текстуры. Думаю, и плетение нити, и качество хлопка, и прокраска, и сам краситель в то время были совершенно иные - сейчас "оптимизировали" процесс и само качество продукции. Увы. За последние десятилетия, буквально все некогда товары и бренды исключительного качества, почему-то потеряли этот статус.

El hecho en usa ni creo existe Levis maquila en fábricas para diferentes mercados. Norteamérica, Sudamérica, Europa oriental occidental, África, Australia, etc.. Yo uso 501. Los cortes los he usado de muchas procedencias. He tenido belgas no malo buen corte, mexicano tiene el tiro muy largo queda muy abajo del paquete y muy colgada la parte del culo y las bastas terminan en 21centimetros. No lo compro ni loco eso es botar plata. El levis colombiano es el mejor, buen corte, arma bien tallas precisas, y son muy durables, manejan lindos tonos, el tiro bien pegado al paquete, el tiro perfecto no se te mete en el culo ni tampoco queda flojo, las bastas son de 19 centímetros a bajo. Otra cosa q deben saber es qu la talla de la cintura no es la q dice, esta es una pulgada más... Osea un 33 w realmente tiene 34 inches. Si eres 33 debes comprar 32 y eso si es en todas las prosedencias. Otra marca q maquillan en Colombia es diésel. Aunque ya no hacen le pantalón larkee q yo compraba q buen corte entallado cómodo cero chupito ridículo.. Pero eso si caritos. Pero valían la pena...
