No developer can do that "without breaking a sweat" (whatever that means) because software compilation will generally scale to as many cores as the computer has. You'd need an actual workstation to achieve something resembling that... not an ultrabook.
This uses the same chassis and heat sink structure as the previous models. They had to get this out quick but rumor has it that the non-2in1 galaxy book 5 pro series or the next gen 6 series will come with a new chassis, new heat management, and a centered key board without the numpad and centered haptic touchpad. Looking forward to that for now.
It's a great alternative to other windows laptops. Personally,I still think Lenovo offers the best value here in Singapore. This Samsung does offer great value for its skillset, but sadly it's unavailable here. I just wish apple fanboys would stop comparing windows laptops to a MacBook. Both are great. Both will do everything the average person needs. Windows laptops just offer more features for entertainment and work than Macs. And MacBooks offer insane battery life at the cost of many things I would consider to be creature comforts.

The 1TB/16GB version is priced at £1900. Unfortunately, we don't receive the 32GB version here, and it seems they are distributed to creators, possibly to create a misleading impression. Fortunately, there's a £300 discount currently, which is timely, as selling them at the full £1900 seems unlikely. The prices for these ultrabooks have skyrocketed due to the mandatory 16GB starting point, eroding their profitability. According to Intel's briefing, they will not use soldered RAM next year. Despite its speed, efficiency, and lower latency, they cannot afford the premium costs that Apple can. I'm not a fan of these convertibles, though you can use them normally. It will be tough to sell a laptop with no dedicated GPU for this price in 2024.
This review sample's config is really weird. The only model on Samsung's website in the states has the U7 256V and the Arc 140V. You're getting a relatively portable 16" 120hz OLED Wacom EMR pen display which is great for art, but I don't know if the other elements justify the pricing. It seems they finally addressed battery life, the GPU is decent enough and they added an anti-reflective panel, but a lot of the same issues the Book3 and Book4 versions had are still there. Keyboard's still super shallow, hinge is still flimsy, touchpad's awkward, numpad's kinda crammed, etc. Not to mention the price is really high for what you're getting, and there's no 32GB config on sale on Samsung's site despite them handing out review samples with 32GB RAM. The 4 and 3 had an issue with the screen glass spontaneously cracking too. Hopefully it's finally been addressed with this one, but only time will tell.
I have a book 3 pro 360 core i5 with 8gb ram and 256gb storage. I got it from a local shop , but i can't find it anywhere on the internet. It's very weird. I think these models are made for select markets.

Also touchpad is not centered, so left side of the laptop tries to kill your left wrist 🤦♂️ Build and feel are great and screen is amazing, no idea why there is no ir camera for windows hello. Dunno who's gonna use it as a tablet, it's godzilla size.
I'm going to wait and see what the apparent redesign next year comes with and make my decision at that point. If they don't knock it out of the park I'll keep using my Razer Blade 15 Advanced which is still going strong with daily use.
@@guillermocharafedin This is my struggle too. I can't stand fan noise at all. The last great fanless "ultrabook" (remember this term?) was the Huawei Matebook X (2017). I had it and it was the best thin and light laptop I've ever had.

I own this laptop, and a MacBook Air M3 15". The Macbook's display is brighter (although only 60Hz). The Samsung's battery is very good, if not quite MacBook Air level good, and the heat and fan noise is much improved over the previous model, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 (which I upgraded from). The touchpad on the Galaxy Book5 Pro laptop is awful, though, and somehow worse than the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 for palm rejection and accuracy, and it's not very 'precise'. It's supposed to have the new AI assisted palm rejection, but it doesn't work well at all. For the price, it needs a haptic touchpad with good quality software to back it up. Also Samsung's other software is a bit half-baked - the Galaxy Buds3 Pro don't always switch to/from the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 for example - I'd say that's worse than the Book4 Pro 360 was, too.
I completely agree about the trackpad. It's horrendous! It's pretty much the same on all 16" Samsung laptops, one of the worst trackpads out there for palm rejection. I returned both the GB4P and the GB4E because of it and only because of it. It's ridiculous.
@@bassheadlife492 To explain - it's referred to as 'palm rejection', but what it actually means is rejecting non-intentional touches or brushes. For example if you're a touch typist (I am), part of your palm (usually the bit near your thumb) 'brushes' the edges of the touchpad, because of its position on this laptop and the large size of it. It's unavoidable. I've owned about 15 laptops in the last 4 years due to my job, and this is the only one that has had the issue to this extent, although the HP Spectre X360 wasn't great either.
