Reminds me of the bug, where you would catch fire when entering the nether, if at the coordinates of the overworld portal in the nether (not divided by 8) is lava. When you went and removed the lava you stooped catching fire

Nice, looks like you finally figured this out enough. As for the end gateway part, assuming the player's position get set as the respawn point (world spawn or bed), then simply setting spawn point to the overworld chunk whose co ord in the end has end gateway should create the same condition necessary. Loading shouldn't be a problem if you just reload it quick enough. If it works, combined with altering the destination, it'll be the cheapest/quickest 1 way trip to some faraway place.
It'll be interesting to see if it's possible to
    - get duplicate entities in the chunk list + modify inventory
    - kill both players at the same time (eg explosion near 0,0)
    - intentionally crash between setting new position and changing dimension (=crash-warping by factor of 8)

So far I haven´t managed to perform this bug at all when I left the end through an end portal.
I´ve managed to use end gateways in other dimensions when I left the end through a nether portal, (I could show you a setup for that on the scicraft creative server if you like), but nether portals in the end are probably not survival friendly. I haven´t understood yet why the bug doesn´t work when I leave the end through an end portal, and still need to figure that out, and see whether I can do anything about it.
„- kill both players at the same time (eg explosion near 0,0)“
There´s only one player entity. He´s just in the entity lists of two different chunks. If you kill one, you also kill the other.
„- get duplicate entities in the chunk list + modify inventory“
You can use this bug in such a way that the player gets entered multiple times into the entity list of one chunk. For that you just need to perform the bug shown in the video, then leave the nether again and go back to the original chunk. It has some interesting effects like that you will press golden pressure plates multiple times, or get more velocity from tnt explosions. But so far I don´t see a way to modify inventory with that.
„- intentionally crash between setting new position and changing dimension (=crash-warping by factor of 8)"
I haven´t tested that yet. I don´t know how to trigger a crash at the right time without modding the game. As far as I can tell you can´t trigger any kind of contraption between the position change and the dimension change, but I´m not entirely sure about that.

@@myreneario7216 Hmm, then it might be the case that it's not possible to do it going from end to overworld... IIRC that transition is almost the same as dying, so if death removes all player entries / re-creates the player instance, then it wouldn't be possible...
Considering most of the game logic is single threaded, I guess there wouldn't be anything interesting even if the same entity got opposing velocity / other effects..
If a single chunk list can hold multiple references to the same object, what if you expand that list by a large amount? if the same entity is added, the lag from entity count won't be too bad... although doing all that within an autosave cycle would be virtually impossible, and any iteration through that list would take a while...
Or maybe crash from dimension transition? Attempting to move into a dimension when it's unloaded (if it can even be unloaded with such precision). Or 1 hit death upon co ord change? If it's even quick enough...

What's really weird about this is that the player entity is supposed to be recreated when it changes dimensions, so... It doesn't really make sense that the world has the wrong reference to the player or that the player has the wrong reference to the world...

@@2No2Name The collision code checks for all entities in the chunk section of the pressure plate.
If the pressure plate would be checking for players then this wouldn´t work, because the overworld and the nether keep separate player lists.

Could this possibly be used for some form of remote chunk loading?

    • @myreneario7216
      @myreneario7216  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

The player entity that gets left in the overworld doesn´t load chunk while you´re in the nether. So I don´t know how you could load chunks with this.

using command blocks still executing after you switched to a different world file. That´s basically credits warp.

This makes sense. The pressure plate block has an entity in it (because the armor stand is on soulsand). In memory, the location of the block is the same in either direction. Brilliant discovery!
