And friends of mine in the US continue to say I was wrong not to renew my contract to work in an American university hospital. I left after six years. I have never regretted it. Even medical practice is politicised in that country.

I hate animal research with a passion. I'm a rescuer and an animal rights activist. This was not the place to speak out about it. We have effective campaigns and organizations to do that. We have had some successes. Envigo was shut down. I am positive MTG never cared one iota about lab experiments on animals until she thought she could use it to make some kind of skewed point. What has MTG said about her buddy Noem shooting a dog in the face and a goat for no other reason than rage? Silence on that though. MTG is a hypocrite.

But MAGA idiots, knowing full well that Donald Trump's response to covid was a spectacular failure, are nonetheless attempting to come to his rescue by pinning the blame on someone else. Trump did everything wrong during the pandemic: He dragged his feet, denied it, made fun of mask wearers (and didn't wear one himself) held rallies during and even removed the in-between empty seats for social distancing. Then, even the one thing that could have saved his reputation as a ding-a-ling: fast tracking the vaccine, fell apart immediately when he suggested his rally-goers get the shot and they booed causing him to instantly cave in and say, "If you want to". He couldn't even back up his own product (well, he had nothing whatsoever to do with the development of it, but you know what I mean).
