    Sup people. I was wrong the behind the edge thickness. So i got some better calipers and it is actually 0,7mm / 27 thou., not 0,8mm. Peace.

    My clip point version is a dream. It replaced my bugout. If i were to stick with the bugout then I would need to get aftermarket scales:( I thought about the clip and find they purposely made it long to compensate for grip. I am fine with it after carry time. I think this is an awesome knife especially when supply and deman balance back out and they will be $65-$70 range.

      The drop point is the better slicer for sure.
      Yeah it falls in the same size range than the Bugout, more sturdy, less edge retention, a good lightweight worker.
      Was not impressed like i said in the video with the performance on the tanto version.
      Prices for these are really too high right now. But yeah i think that it will drop in the future.
      Good comment. Thanks for stopping by.

    Now that Cold Steel has been sold a few folks are concerned about the future quality. My name is Kevin and I’m a knifeaholic.

      Definitely a concern that GSM Outdoors will end up taking CS to no name stainless steel displayed in clam shell packaging!

      @@knifevideochannel4657 So far they seem alright, some of the new offerings where horrible though, we can only tell for sure over time.
      This one was still made during Lynn´s time.
      So sad, it looked so cool, maybe i try the drop point one day.
      Thanks for checking by.

    Use Brownells Aluma-Hyde II Epoxy Based Firearms Finish (Matte Black to match the black G-10) for the clip. They have other colors too. Great stuff. Just keep the applicator clean for even spraying. I had a Code 4 and it was too slick. Loved the knife minus the slippery handle. I should have used this, if I knew about it. Try is on a cheap piece of metal first to see how you like it. You can also cold blue it.

      Thanks for the info!
      Have only acid wahsed some clips to make them less visable. Might try that in the future.

    Thanks brother for a nice honest review. Glad i purchase drop point, it slice better. Im coming from mora 2000 so slicing is very important for me. Maybe tanto is for heavy stuff. Thanks again for a nice review. Malaysian.

    a real honest review!
    i want to buy AirLite drop point or Ti-Lite 4inch but mostly as self defense tool.
    for slice and edc i own a much more expansive Victorinox SwissTool.
    what the Victorinox lack is a rapid deployment (very) solid blade. the blade it has is a dream to slice, it cut paper only pushing in it, no need to move it backward!
    i love tanto shape but i consider its a waste of the total blade lenght.
    i think ill choose Ti-lite due to the slimmer profile.

    • @megaronknives3032

      yeah can´t really recommend you the Air Lite for that purpose.

    I end up acid washing a lot of my extra reflective clips. I just ended up doing it on my Lawman because it gets very chipped and looks bad. I think ill do that with this one if i get it. For the price its hard to pass on.

    Great review! I have been looking for this info and unfortunately found it... Was so hoping for the exact same hollow grind as in the code 4. Very disappointed to hear it is not. Wtf cold steel!! My code 4 is the xhp and a laser beam. Just to wide for my tastes and the finger cutouts are to sharp. You are so right, this could have been the perfect edc. Thanks for your time!!

      @megaronknives3032  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate that good Sir. I guess we can´t have everything. I still have hope that they make another version though. Although I might just make some Micarta scales for my Code 4 (also XHP) and have that regrind done on the Air Lite and than i will be edc-ing the heck out of this knife... :)

    My drop point is very slicey. Maybe the tanto was made slightly different

      I heard that a lot from people that own a Drop point, so yes that might be the case here.

    Holy crap. 33/1,000" at the edge? That's a serious blimp. I have to say, I'm not a stickler for a blade being paper thin behind the edge. I think some people make too big a deal of it, and I find that there is actually a sweet spot that lies between, but that is entirely too thick for an edc folder. Ive been thinking about grabbing this guy for a while since it's now available for 50 bones which seems like a very nice price, but that geometry is a deal breaker for me. I am curious about the edge on the drop point model. I know this kind of tanto is usually hollow on the run and flat at the tip, but I'm not sure if the drop point is a hollow or flat grind. Can anyone weigh in on this and tell me how the tanto compares to the drop point variant? Thanks for the review! You did a great job

    • @megaronknives3032
      @megaronknives3032  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Matthew. I was very disappointed that it was not hollow ground as well, i even played with the thought of having it reground to a thinner geometry, but it would have been too expensive, so i didn´t.
      A couple of people told me that the Drop Point is a little bit thinner behind the edge, also a flatgorund btw. It performs much better from what they have reported though.
      I bought this knife pretty early when it was released, because i couldn´t wait, it was one of my most anticipated knives that year. Back then it was at a much higher price point. 50 dollars for a hard use slim carry beater knife seams alright. Just don´t expect a slicer and you will be fine.
      If you want a hollow ground tanto that cuts really well i can recommend the Cold Steel Voyager, if you haven´t tried that already.
      Cheers.

      Prices seem to change very quickly these days.
      And 60 Dollars are a lot more resonable for what you are getting, in the end everybody has to decide for himself, if it is worth it.

    G10.scales should have some kinda liners ,I know g10 is tough stuff but its like stone and stone cracks and chips.

    • @megaronknives3032
      @megaronknives3032  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends what you do with it. Any material can break even with liners underneath. Never had a problem though with G10 chipping on me.
      The whole philosophy here is to have as much strength as possible for a really lightweight package.
