For those who want to know how he does it, I'll tell you. On each player he has a recorded sequence of bases and effects B/E/B/E, what he does when playing is to alternate between bases and effects between the two players, he can do it randomly, generating effects such as slowing down the speed, repetitions, etc. The recorder should have certain modifications to make it more comfortable to use in these circumstances. The secret of not needing headphones to DJ is that the backing of the tape can be written on, he can have Base and Effect marked on each tape. So on each tape he has the beginning of E1 (effect 1) marked and a few seconds later he marks B1 (base 1), just at the moment when that part starts. He can also let a sequence run that he doesn't want, while the other tape plays, to choose certain parts of what he has already recorded. The art of this is making good tapes and sequencing them properly. For a young person with a good sense of rhythm and a desire to practice it would not be that difficult or amazing, although it does take a lot of practice and knowledge of the musical style. It is still very good.
Someone told me that Modris said: playing this set was like bonuss after bushcrafting soviet 4pin to that time audio output cable without soldering. All was made with duct tape 5 minutes befor set.

In many ways their set up had advantages. They didn't need to buy records. Just recorded what was on the radio. They just needed a good break beat and a banging sound system.
This guy seems to be just doing what he can with what little he had. He probably comes from nowhere, a place where any kind of gadget is a luxury item.
