- Nahela Morales was born in Mexico City and came to the United States at the age of 4. Raised Catholic by her devout grandparents, she had very little spiritual introduction to anything else. That is, until 9/11 happened - while Morales was in her 20s in New York City. She said the tragedy is what forced her to open the Quran for the first time. As a Mexican-American, she understood she was venturing into territory that very few before her had.

I was actually shocked when she complained about acceptance because I know for a fact that Muslims embrace converts with open arms. I am really curious as to the possibility anybody rejecting converts because even the sahaba were converts.

I can tell you being Muslim does not compromise your culture. I'm a south asian. I strongly love the food, language, clothes and history. Of course, it is all in boundries of Islam but it doesn't restrict much.

I converted to Islam left my family and everything was told I would be rewarded now I’m homeless living in my car and the same Dallas community told me I have too many problems that they’re not equipped to handle to stay away. They told me this because they don’t want to take responsibility for the fact that I am homeless living in my car, so to me it’s like everything else they don’t practice what they teach

This is only with hispanics in the U.S in latinAmerica we do have muslims but they are a really small minority. Christianity is bigger in Latin America. Can't speak for hispanics in the U.S.

The reason why I believe 7 out of 10 (converts) leave is because Islam offers a false hope. The reason why the Catholic lady feels like a better Catholic in her new religion is because Catholicism stopped following the teachings of the Bible back in the first millennium. There’s only true hope in Christianity and in Jesus Christ (gospel)-because it offers forgiveness of sins and assures the disciple of Jesus of his/her salvation.
