I think its the total opposite. She hasn't lived life at all or had any good role models or examples in it to have taught her anything different than what she is doing now. Listen to how she talks about her mom and then herself. Shes doing the same things

Mark please tell her about job corps. It’s a govt program that’s saved my life. They provide food, shelter, a high school education, vocational training and helped create a pathway to college. They will take people from age 16-24. I found them on the pennysaver when I was 17. They bought me a greyhound ticket from LA to San Bernardino and getting on that bus forever changed my life. Please please tell her about this program it really works.

Agreed. She's got a lot of beautiful _machisma_ to her and that has in part allowed her to survive, perhaps.
It's a lovely, lovely thing to behold. Yet she's also a child. She's a fucking _kid_ . The strength she has covers well the yearning for love and boundaries and stability and safety I think she feels. But it doesn't cover it wholly, does it? Your comments are spot on and she's one of the most self-aware people I've seen on SWU.
And that _laugh_ ? It's like Christmas.

tbh I hate comments like this... It feels more like you just want some cheap likes on the web while giving off a false illusion because she can string sentences and talk coherently enough, to label "there going places".. Being able to interact and express yourself does not mean shit in this world, especially for people like her. Or did you miss the part where she says that normal people see her and judge? Because that line alone has 100% more truth than your bullshit comment. I know numerous of White, Asian and Black etc people with college backgrounds who still can't get the life that they're striving for after years of putting in work at school internships and such... I know numerous people who have legit talent in sports who will still not go anywhere... I have seen so many smart and talented homeless people who can do the Michael Jackson moonwalk and while singing like a top 5 artist in the street corners, and they still end up going nowhere. There's a little thing called STATISTICS!!! Background checks, race, social class, education and numerous of other shit has a role in it... But you think a abandoned MS-13 affiliated who sadly probably has a record is going to make it? This isn't the deep south, people from Cali aren't idiot's.. All you can do is pray, pray and pray some more for her on a nightly basis.. A turn around life for her is getting a 9-5 job, finding a true love who can help split the rent and go from there, it's America, that lifestyle is more easily attainable and realistic for this girl... Right now, fast food joints will call her way after the hs graduates and the people who at least have GED (assuming she doesn't go back to finish school). Don't use this video to try and build up a candy land type of fantasy for some TH-cam "good feel" likes. It's corny and I'm tired of seeing you people type out the same fake blah blah "they will be fine" type of remarks..

She is so intelligent and has so much she wishes for. Just think back when you were 16 and wanted to ask something but didn’t have the guts for it. I hope she gets the help she deserves. The rich have destroyed our society. When a social system breaks down it's almost always because a rich person in a position of leadership made that decision to defund it. Pollution, wage stagnation, climate change, you can fill in the rest.

    • @mikemantle
      @mikemantle 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

@@damienholland8103 The rich have not "destroyed our society", the rich are indifferent. The rich are not actively going out trying to make peoples lives miserable and some of the rich donate to different charities that help with various causes as well as the majority of taxes come from the rich that help fund the social programs.
Democrats are more to blame then "the rich". It's democrat policies that create poverty and destruction of family which leads to these situations.
Democrat policies destroy the family unit, ridicule the church (which could be used for support and teaching of morality), and create a dependence mentality.

I get the impression that she really does spend a great deal of time contemplating these rather deep and complex ideas and concepts. She’s a thinker, for sure. Good for you, sweetheart. Never stop thinking critically. Never stop learning. Don’t lose your curiosity. Always ask, “why?”. I hope that you find a way to turn your situation around for the better, and become the young woman you always dreamed of being, with the life you deserve to live. You have the power to do that, and anything else you wish to accomplish in this life. Don’t give up, and don’t ever accept “good enough”. We don’t settle for survival, we thrive. ♥️

It’s very easy to just say, “Get your GED and work in retail, etc.” But when you’ve been through the trauma and the upbringing that she has, that traps you in your mind. Her baseline normal is chaos, trauma. Put her in a “normal” environment, she will most likely not be able to handle it, what she needs first and foremost is love and human connection and understanding, she needs time to heal before she can integrate into society.

      Also she lives in USA.
You have a criminal record you will never get a job with the way their system works. She needs A LOT of money to get a late age education. Mental healthcare facilities are far and few between and privatised, she has no chance with help there. Medication is exponentionally more expensive than the rest of the world, she will never have access to it.
USA is the least opportunistic nation, does not help the poor or disenfranchised. Capitalism has eaten away the admirable ideals of the USA and turned them to cancer.
Their people are beautiful, their country and system/govt is not. Money talks in USA more than anywhere else. You ain’t got it, your life is meaningless

THAT PART!!!!! I have that gut feeling of her taking full blown good advantage of that!! I pray it happens, she’s a child and is willing to hand write a school for her own future. She’s not confident in the school but she’s still willing to write to reach out to them and THAT IS APPLAUDED FOR HERE!!

She has a lot of potential, she is smart, and really wants to change she just needs the guidance to the right direction and she will make it. She's already been through a lot already she is young and has a whole life ahead of her she just needs the right guidance. I hope she gets the help she needs. I would like to help anyway I can. You said exactly what I was thinking. It was hard to hear Mark tell this young person that basically being understandably angry and depressed is less appealing to those who get to decide if they help a vulnerable person or not. "Be happy and you'll deserve help" isn't any kind of message to send to anyone. I would be interested in knowing why this thought pattern keeps repeating amongst the better off/ the one with the greater advantages.

Ikhebookdna I did. I’ve also worked with countless women who struggled with addiction and were dedicated to their kids. Yes, addiction can and does hurt you ability to be an effective parent, but it does not automatically mean this level of rejection and abandonment. So, yes, I am interested in hearing her story. I hope Kristina gets all of the supports she will need to thrive. It’s going to take lots of community supports including therapy.
