- Lettuce plays a full set of James Brown, recreating early concerts of the JB's, with help from Alecia Chakour and Nigel Hall
Audio is courtesy of Scott Bernstein and his Neumann TLM170's which were recording this show one foot to the left of the camera, so the sound is pretty representative of the spot we were in.

Excellent work Lettuce, thank you very much. Keeping the legacy of James Brown alive.
I am 55 and I danced to this entire set: the funky chicken, the good foot, the four corners, the camel walk and everything else in between (LOL)!!
Feel ya Lisa E!
Loose booty!
That pocket starting at 5:04 though! ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
How in the world could someone give this a thumbs down? AMAZING upload -- thank you!!!
There's no 'splainin' lack of taste
hot damn this set is 🔥
Nigel straight channelling the Minister of the New New Super Heavy Funk, the Godfather of Soul, Mr Dynamite, and the Hardest working man in showbiz
Here is a little addition to the set list: There is a short I DON'T WANT NOBODY TO GIVE ME NOTHING (OPEN UP THE DOOR) interlude from 22:57 to 23:12. The song that is played starting at 38:18 when the band is being acknowledged is I GOT TO MOVE. The set ended with THERE WAS A TIME. I guess I GOT THE FEELING WAS CUT OUT?
Fantastic set! The only thing that would have made it better was if SEX MACHINE has been included. Im one of Mr. Brown's biggest fans, since 1968 when I was 12, and this are among the best live cover versions I have heard.
That's a nice tribute... 👍
we know that they were not good as a JB band, but they are funky
Guys, I watched the whole set and fanced all the way. Thank you!
Erick Coomes is Bass Jesus. That groove.
I absolutely love "Do Your Thing" originally by Lyn Collins, I absolutely love this version of it as well starting around 9:45, esp. love how it closes out!
I kno this is old but DAMN fellas! well done!
They should cut an entire album dedicated to James Brown. Absolutely Amazing and Suuuper Baaad! Ye-aww! Uhh..take it back..yeah...Ye-aww!

It's not Live at the Olympia by any means, but it's not karaoke either.
Great show! However, blah blah blah, I wish the drums were in the mix better, especially the snare. Adam has a great snare sound.
Nigel was not happy with the drummer @30:04 ...
Why doesn't this band have a permanent singer? Kinda hard to do James Brown without a singer.
Fuck i'd love to hear Nikki Costa with Lettuce.
Damn...that dude on the left NEVER has to worry about not being able to see at a concert.
Is there another set of this? I noticed at the end of this set that they said they are taking a break.
+PaulDA2000 I don't know if it's recorded, but they played a set of Lettuce tunes after this.
was this show "billed" as a James Brown tribute?
Who's the bone player?
Funk off!!!
awesome show, but their lighting director needs to chill out a bit....had a seizure within the first minute

Anything that is not James Brown is just that.... NOT James Brown.
It's to clean for a James Brown tune no FUNK just a good clean version.
Good friend of mine played with James for ten years. This is not even close..
shakedownstreet48 man, James was James, and James WAS the show; these cats are alright, but there is no James out front a groovin' and a shakin', sweaty and half necked! Oh Lord! Lord no!
Gene Chaas Guess what James Brown is dead! Just because they are not him means nothing. It says "James Brown appearing tonight" nowhere. It says "LEttuce playing James Brown songs"
Hey man awesome picture that you drew but you are no Monet...um....
For me, Lettuce is the best funk band nowadays by far. They´re not James & the J.B but I think these guys are awesome.
shakedownstreet48 a good friend of mine ate some peanut butter toast and she thinks this is pretty damn close... i don't normally find myself at odds with a deadhead but that was a stupid fucking comment if i've ever seen one
