      His mom might be russian or Ukrainian who was born in KZ. Or you might meet kazakhs with European features and faces. Kazakh used be a life of style. Free of borders, limits. They used to have their own laws, hans and life styles.
      It was just the conglomerate of Turkic tribes initially, as centuries were going on a new people were joining to this kazakh civilization. People were looking for a new free life - refugees from despot Russian Tsar, from Mongolia, from Caucasus, from Iran etc. They all have mixed in one nation of Kazakhs. Our country is right on the middle of Eurasia. Don't forget Kazakhstan's territory is 14% in Europe and 86% in Asia. 😋
      Even Russian cossacks or Kazaki (Казаки) are also connected to that civilization

    Magnifique! This was so well put together :) Kazakhstan has always plagued my curiosity and it was interesting to watch. I felt so sorry for you with the heat especially, you unknowingly probably had heat stroke. I've lived in Australia my whole life and still get heat stroke both indoors and outdoors when it's above 34 degrees :( once again thank you for such a great video!

    Anasteisha, I've been subbed to your channel a year or so ago when found you on youtube. Never thought you would visit and travel to Kazakhstan. I am from here, I live and work in Astana. if only I knew you will be coming here, I would have greeted you from the airport, found some vegan spots here... ahh! I am so sad that you've had unpleasant moments along the trip... Anyway, thank you for the video about our country. We are not perfect in many ways ... mais, we are growing and hopefully changing to the better... bisous! XXX Elle

    Great travel vlog of Kazakhstan. I love how you show both touristy places and also every day scenes, and how you are candid about your feelings. I'm a fan of Dimash and Denis Ten, and thanks to them I've connected with many wonderful people from their country, so it's a special place to me. I hope to travel there someday!

Et tu as réussi ça à merveille.
    Le montage est top. On sent vraiment une ambiance apaisante.
    Merci de m'avoir fait voyager !

  • @omniatranseunt4721

    I lived in Kazakhstan 21 years of my life and moved to St. Petersburg 3 years ago. Here I became vegan and every time I go back to Kz to see my parents it's such a hard thing for me as Kz is the most non vegan countries in the world (however you can find tofu and Alpro milks in Astana). The thing you were talking about in instagram, is absolutely true. The people who were born in ussr don't care about animals and they always estimate or people's life way higher than animals.
    For most Kazakh people eating animals is absolutely fine because they've been doing it all their lives and it's their custom. You can't find not a single dish without animal products in their cuisine, as nomads couldn't grow nothing but wheat. Even now, people are too conservative to change their traditions and you can't do anything with that.
    My family have Ukrainian ethnic roots but as they lived all they lives in Kazakhstan they behave the same) so, I hope you weren't offended much during your trip. People are different and sometimes it's better not to keep everything that people do close to your heart)))
    Thank you for the video)

    • @Antastesia
      @Antastesia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      yes it was definitely hard to find vegan food, or people who understood the idea behind veganism. But i didn't feel offended, I knew it would be like that anyway before entering the country! hopefully things change a little bit with time though !

    • @АйымТуркенбаева
      @АйымТуркенбаева 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I strongly disagree with the statement "all people from the post soviet union counties do not care about animals". First of all, this is a generalisation. Secondly, just because it is widespread (not only in KZ but also around the world) does not mean that there are no people who care. Also, why is it always necessary to put down one certain community instead of being fair towards everyone then, why not to mention all other countries as well? As if in Europe, Russia, Asia, Middle East, UK or USA people don't eat meat.
      "difficult to find people who understood the idea behind veganism" Just because you have met people who don't understand it, does not mean that a majority is like that . Yes, there might be just a few vegans but most people understand what veganism is and why people choose it. So, it is not difficult when you actually meet and talk to educated locals and there are actually a lot of them in KZ.

    • @devilseng
      @devilseng 7 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      whats wrong with eating meat? Just because u are vegan doesnt mean the whole world are vegan. It is a food chain, it's natural. You being vegan doesnt mean the slaughterhouse will kill lesser chicken each year. As a meat eater, i feel offended that you imply that we dont care about animals. in fact, most of us do, i love to eat chicken but i love playing with my dog too.
      I respect u as a vegan and your beliefs however dont judge us like we are all monsters who abuses animals.

    • @ialt3coffee
      @ialt3coffee 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Don't get fanatic about your believes. I respect your choice to be vegan, but you know humanity haven't invented better source of protein yet. And talk about this like it is something exclusive to Kazakhstan. There are only 75 million vegans of choice in the world.

    J'ai adoré ton vlog! Il est très complet et intéressant! Le Kazakhstan est un pays assez boudé par les touristes français, et c'est quand on regarde ton vlog, qu'on se rend compte que c'est un pays à visiter! Je me demandais, qu'est ce qui t'as poussé à choisir ce pays comme destination ?

    • @Antastesia

      Pour être honnête je ne me souviens plus précisément. Au début je voulais aller en Ouzbekistan, qui est bcp plus connu et je me suis intéressée aux pays qui le bordaient, j'ai accroché sur le Kazakhstan, j'ai lu "in search of Kazakhstan" et c'est devenu une fixation! j'aime assez les pays avec une histoire forte et malheureusement douloureuse, c'est le cas de ce pays. De plus j'aime beaucoup la culture russe et elle est assez présente au K. ce qui a joué aussi :)

    I find travel very hard sometimes, mentally and even though maybe I am evil but it makes me glad that other people also struggle sometimes when travelling. The nightclub thing would've broken me. You look so tan at that point. I didn't know it got so hot there- I live in the desert anyway but I hate the heat and avoid it while travelling because you are walking around all the time. Sorry that you didn't feel good all the time.

    Hi Emy, do you think you could go into more details as to why some parts of the trip were difficult? I'm not sure I fully understood

      Isabelle B. - She explains it on her Instagram:
      "What happened probably is my worst traveling experience, though luckily nothing dangerous or scary. What happened was that my friend and I booked a 2days tour through the hostel we were staying at to explore the nature around Almaty. Long story short we were with a couple that was super unfriendly and ignored us for the most part.the first night we ended up having to sleep with them(initially not the plan),but they both had drinks with the guide(who was also smoking weed, keep in mind he was driving us in the mountains),came back late and snored like crazy.following day we were supposed to be back in the city at 8pm to catch the guy from the airbnb but because of them we arrived at midnight so had nowhere to sleep. The guide who also owns the hostel offered us to sleep in one bed(dorm)and wanted us to pay... we ended up sleeping 3hours on the floor of the living area. No apologies, no help whatsoever. We sent a polite email to express our disappointment and were told to "fuck off"... we had almost nothing to eat, even though they knew we're vegan, payed some extra money and couldn't even walk in the canyon like planned. On top of that I witnessed some animal cruelty which made those days even worse. Since we booked through booking . Com we left an honest feedback ... and they wrote us as : "never showed up", as if the whole story wasn't true 😑😐
      I've never seen such a lack of respect and professionalism in all of my travels... While the sceneries were amazing it was such a negative time I don't think I'll forget it any time soon.
      Has anything similar ever happened to you?"

      the food wasn't really good nor easy to find, the temperatures were quite extreme, the pollution and dust made me cough through the whole trip and sneeze too. there were various incidents involving animals which really didn't sit well with me. We walked on average 15 kms a day (with little food and very hot weather)... and in the south there was no sort of relaxing, pleasant moments. No walking around and enjoying the architecture, no small shops, no parks to sit in the shade and exchance with people, no restaurants to have a good meal ... after a month of travel it was quite upsetting at times.

      Antastesia I'm so sorry you had to experience that. Almaty is truly a great city, full of great places and people. It definitely has it's flaws (a handful of them to be honest) but it's my hometown and I'm sad you associate those things with Almaty now

      So sorry you had such a bad experience with the guides. On the side being vegan in a country that clearly is not and probably does not have an idea of that food can be a problem, don't you think? Adapt or do not travel, thats my motto. Is their country their culture was to be expected that animals would be eaten at some point. Sorry for the reality check.
