@@haruntekbas2503 not only that, octavarium is a concept album based on the musical scale, which also loops itself
The sequence of the notes in the album, based on the main keys of the songs, would be: F (The Root of all Evil), G (The answer lies within), A (These Walls), B (I walk beside you), C (panic attack), D (Never enough), E (Sacrificed sons) and F again (the octave, Octavarium), to then loop in the same key in Root of all Evil, as the musical scale

The last lyric in the Razor's Edge part of Octavarium "This story ends where it began" references the intro to The Root Of All Evil hence the outro as well as Portnoy's decision to end that series of albums, and combining the intros to The Glass Prison and The Root Of All Evil to make the outro for The Shattered Fortress makes perfect sense as The Glass Prison was the start of the Twelve Step Suite, and The Root Of All Evil while it was the third song in the suite it was the opening track to Octavarium it makes sense as they were both known for opening their own suite each, I also just remembered the last 2 songs on Images And Words Wait For Sleep was a prelude to Learning To Live sharing melodies, similar thing done on A Dramatic Turn Of Events with the songs Far From Heaven and Breaking All Illusions

The demo and many live versions of A Change of Seasons end with a snippet of A Fortune in Lies, the first song on their first studio record. I always took this to mean the pain and trauma that Mike experienced and expressed in ACOS ultimately led him to Dream Theater.

I thought, the reference in the ending of The Shattered Fortress to The Root Of All Evil was limited to the drum rhythm, but as I've heard today in fact the whole intro lies hidden beneath the static, which makes it yet ANOTHER fit for this compilation...
