Dude! I'm very impressed with your planning and execution of that pull and how you coordinated your help to assist you in it. The finish work tight as glove and I enjoyed watching the crucial step of threading and doping your pipe threads. Thank you and congratulations on your project!
I'm surprised how short a pipe wrench on the 2" fittings. I've had to come behind and fix enough leaks on larger pipe, I put it on TIGHT with a BIG WRENCH after doping CAREFULLY. But many of the messes I come behind were none too tight.
those x risers by chicago fittings are nice becuz your fittings are above ground and are easy to install but if they are improperly installed (threads are cross-threaded or pipe not inserted all the way up into the riser) they can leak and when not inserted all the way or not threaded all the way or cross threaded, in that case gas only has one way to go down the riser and out the end of it, below ground. but over all if properly installed they are great
all the fittings look good but you shoulnt use a saw to cut the pipe becuz those shavings can get down into the pipe then when the gas flows it will take it into the regulator and stick too the seat and cause the regulator to leak out the vent, should just get a pair of 2in ratcheting pipe cutters just be carful not to egg the pipe if you have a dull blade
@@ThatPlumberDude I am the rep here in Chicago for Blue Monster. There are more Blue Monster Closet Bolts sold here in Chicago than anywhere else. Do a TH-cam video on that?
Excellent video, thanks. Great plumbing technique. Were the megapress fittings specified by the project engineer/architect, or the municipal building department? Here in Northern Virginia each jurisdiction seems to have their own specific limitations on mixing threaded & union fitting with megapress in the same final assembly, especially compressed air and gas service installs.
We had our excavation crew trench it. It looked like a tunnel but it was a trench with the metal plates on top. The scope of work included running a gas line from one meter to another meter. They were abandoning a gas line because they are installing a parking garage so we ran a new one from another meter. The very end will show you 🤙🏼
nice work. I'm surprised that leaning over gas meter was put in front of the electrical meters, which typically would want 30" or so clearance for servicing those meter panels.
This job was from awhile back, but I think it was 10lbs from the meter, 5lbs through the regulator. Este trabajo era de hace un tiempo, pero creo que estaba a 10 libras del medidor, a 5 libras a través del regulador.
Too many unions for my liking, that pipe coming down to the regulator should have been just one nipple. Unless of course you guys didnt have the right sizez in which case, ill shut the hell up. 😂😂 😂😂😂
Beautiful installation!
Thanks! 🙏🏼

Good job, guys !
Love that megapress and big ass unions!
Love Megapress too 🖤
I have always wondered how they put on those gas risers. Looks like a solid way to do it with the connection being above ground.
Yeah it’s my preferred method 🤙🏼

@@bhearit5775 Well, anything can leak if installed improperly. I would prefer to avoid underground connections whenever possible.
fun looking job!
It was cool!
Well planned!

For sure
I feel for you dudes. work like this is a pain in the assets !!!
Yes it is! 😆
Impressive video
Thank you bro
Awesome video! That’s a clean trench
Thanks bro! I’m still trying to figure out filming and editing. Stoked you enjoyed it 🤙🏼
Damn , I like that niceness fit on the last fitting in that stack of fittings . About 8:42 into the vid. Hard-
piping stuff is killer.
It’s a good feelin when stuff comes together like that 👊🏼
Great video man really nice work! Can you use Stainless Steel pipe fittings and nipples on gas?
That dopes never coming off 😂
💯😆
Thank you for using Blue Monster Products!! Where
was this job done, city?
It was in the Dallas area 🤙🏼

@@ThatPlumberDude shale that plastic pipe will get get pushed onto them sharp rocks. at some point.
@@mcDarkD It’s bedded before backfill.

That’s for the positivity bro! Yeah the engineer was good with how we planned & executed our install. 🤙🏼
I didn't notice a walk sleeve on a y of the existing pipe going theu the brixk walls of the buildings . Sleeves not required in your area?
No sleeve was required. This was back when I was in Dallas TX.
Here, you cannot use metal pipe bushings anymore. It is against code. The use of poly was smart. If using megapress need to go all the way with them.
What area are you at?
@@ThatPlumberDude SE NC
They are prohibited here in California as well, but only for indoor or underground applications. No street elbows either.
@@DragonBuilds I have heard that, but is there a code reference on it?
4:32 that was a one man job, use ratcheting cutters, make a clean cut, specially if you are poly fusing
Yikes, these dudes didn't have a directional bore machine?
Did you guys did that tunnel? Where your dragging the pipe over to?

0:40 look at all those busted electric LB's, damn.
🤙🏼
Pipe fitter can’t decide which lube/seal he likes, tape or dope .... did both ... lol
Haha, not quite! 8 out of 10 professional plumbers use both. 🤙🏼
Where I’m from they would fail this installation due to use of tape, we use dope only for gas lines
Where do you live? Here in north Texas we can use gas approved tape and/or dope.
es alta o baja presion?

Do you do heating and air conditioning?
No I do not. The closest I get to hvac is clearing condensate drains.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Appreciate that bro 🙏🏼
Probably a dumb question, what up with the 1/4 every 15'?
Are you referring to slope for drainage?
so many other utility's in that trench
The apartment complex were rerouting everything from gas to phone cable.

no tef tape allowed
Where you located? I’ve heard from a few different guys that their area doesn’t allow it.
