Hang in there, one day this situation will be all behind us! And at some point there will a need for whatever field you’re in. In the meantime you’re still an awesome person, your job, while very important, does not define you.
You create your existence by wanting and finding a way to get there step-by-step and being flexible...it doesn't matter if it goes a little off course..still be flexible...I spent two years not knowing what would come next but I remembered previous times - when I wanted teaching qualifications and needed someone to assess that and nothing was available so - I designed and delivered my own course so that an assessor could see me doing what I love..and then I wanted to work in another country and after taking any job to survive I went back into the work that inspired/inspires me and just asked is there a position and someone said yes, but I'd built up my skills during this time and networked with previous contacts and after I spent a year in China and now I live in Italy. But I spent a great deal of time in the voluntary sector too so I could be involved with the things I love but also adding to my CV and adding to my transferable skills not for that in and of itself but I wanted to keep working towards where I wanted to be in all senses...you have to believe in yourself and where you want to be and take that leap of faith and just do it - you can do it!
No one should help you or why wait for a non-existent Hollywood moment that never arrives - you create the moment and as for others - Jung said who lives outside dreams and who lives within awakens or something like - the point being those who need or wait for outside validation will always be "asleep" - and those who look within themselves as their own firm foundation in the world will come alive and only when you are your firm foundation in the world can you even begin to love yourself or anyone else for that matter...

Before the pandemic I was touring with a musical (living my dream), and since I have also been very lost wondering who I am without theatre and live entertainment. Takes a lot of work on the self, when you have spent your whole life doing something you love and its suddenly taken away. Im still working on figuring it out and im happy to see you are getting there.

Someties life takes away what we're good out to teach us the lessons of impermanance and letting go attachments. Findind yourself first implies you need to have courage to lose yourself. I went undiagnosed for so many years and I was so fed up feeling sick all the time and not being able to eat normal things. Finally I got put on Paxil and it changed my life. In a week I felt like I could eat without running to the bathroom five times and once I learned how to read my body’s signals the stress went way down and my quality of life went way up. Emily I can relate I'm lactose intolerant and normally I'm fine but I had mozzarella sticks from olive garden and on the way home I had to make an emergency stop at Burger King. And I was in the bathroom like 25 30 mins and I was so scared my now husband was just going to leave me but when i came out he was still in the car waiting and just asked if I was ok. I was so embarrassed
