It's genius, I've got all Madness albums and must admit I haven't listened to this for ages, I mostly listen to Oui Oui from the newer stuff, but had this on the other day and thought crikey it's genius! The section around 6:50 where the beat changes tempo is sublime. I just love how Madness are like a soundtrack to London.
My favourite song from my favourite Madness album. I love how you just imagine what it would be like in old London, the cultures, the smells and goings on. Amazing song!
One of the most amazing musical surprises I've had. Discovering one of the greatest songs Madness has ever done on an album released more than 25 years after their peak. Genius. Should be included on any subsequent Madness compilations (but I bet it won't be).
Cos in the Liberty of Norton Folgate Walking wild and free And in your second hand coat Happy just to float In this little taste of liberty Cos you’re a part of everything you see Yes you’re a part of everything you see

Ouahh merci madness.
Wow
Just noticed today after 14 odd years that Shoreditch (Shorditch) and Spitalfields (Spittlefields) are spelt wrongly on LP sleevenotes by Suggs..
5:37
Suggs has obviously been reading Peter Accroyd.
I used this song to introduce some ten year olds to psycho-geography, good fun.
Great concept album - check out BBC iPlayer catch-up Suggs’ Love Letters To London👍🏻
Was a great series.
