      Is there a video? Thanks 😮

    This is not a competition to determine the best shot, this is a competition to see who can make the best handloads for their rifle. EVERY barrel is going to shoot differently, finding the right load for your barrel and then producing COMPLETELY identical ammunition after that is what the competition is.

    People can come on here and call this boring and insignificant all they want! But the truth be known these people have probably got more knowledge and understanding of Precision ballistics and reloading then most that will watch this video

      Also metrology, Gd&t, and machining.

    These could be the very smartest way to test barrels
    It's strange that no manufacturer is using something similar Very puzzling 🤔
    I love these rigs immensely
    They show excellent precision

    Best group I've managed (that i've measured) so far was 1.281mm at 100 meters (0.048 MOA) with my Bedded factory Howa 1500 in .308win with a 24 inch 1:12 twist shooting Nosler Custom competition 155gr bullets at ~2830fps...

    Thank you for showing. I had no idea this existed.

    So if this was done in a building with no wind would these rifles actually shoot perfect? Or would you still get
    .005 or so (less thann.018) of variance between shots? I'm a machinist who has been shooting for years and never knew about these. Guess what my next project is. :)

    Abit late here.
    People don't believe me when I tell them serious 200 yard benchrest shooters want bare minum 0.05 moa groups. That a 0.1 moa is fine for casual bench rest shooting. Usually it comes up in talking rifle precision ,harmonics and using shorter barrel lengths for better accuracy.

    I would call this more of an exercise in machining than a human competition... Lol very cool none the less.

    Not to rain on your parade but 100 yards is just that 100 yards

      It's 0.018" spread for 5 shots thought. That's 1/64 moa.

    Hell that wouldn't be any fun. My little girl could do that. When you take human error out of the equation then it's no longer shooting!

      She can load ammo with extreme consistency?

  • @jcrows6627

    Basically...The human element has been removed from the actual shooting.

      +peter pan yes and no. The only thing that is different from shooting a regular rifle is you are not having to hold the gun. You are still having to aim, judge for wind, load the gun, & pull the trigger. So other than that you have been completely removed from shooting the rifle. If you are local to Visalia Ca you might want to stop by and check out one of these matches. The is one coming up October 21, 22, 2017. Stay tuned for a video update on that. Ben

      These railguns do take a lot out of it I much prefer poor mans traditional Bench rest (bipod & rear sand bag) , as it still requires a fair bit of skill at the higher accuracy levels Breathing , Heart rate , Trigger pull , hold on the gun Wind etc the slightest movement from the shooter will throw it out but it can still deliver impressive accuracy

    • @ironbunny4121
      @ironbunny4121 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's more of a gun building/ammo making competition

      Yeah because those bullet just load themselves and they judge their own wind and adjust the scope all by themselves.

    I want to know how they measure a hole in a piece of paper to one one thousandthof an inch I say its impossible!

    • @CenCalGuns
      @CenCalGuns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's measured outside of bullet whole, to the outside of the bullet whole, minus the bullet diameter to come up with the group spread.

      No need for negative comments . Just Old Timers competing and having fun testing their skills . I am sure that they would not criticise you if hitting a Pie Plate at a 100 yards with your Walmart rifle and ammo makes you happy .
