I fear Fall will soon be here in Maine, USA too and I dread it every year. I've tried to make friends with it and I just can't. The end of Summer is overwhelmingly sad to me. I struggle between September and Thanksgiving like a lot of people do in the long cold dark winter (which I actually don't mind). Everyone around me loves Fall, Pumpkins, Apple picking, leaves changing color....it all is too much for me. I will try some of your helpful hints when I get overwhelmed.
Fairyland Cottage Similar weather here in the SW of England. Can feel the ebb and flow of the changing seasons, as leaves start to fall, days become more overcast and the rain is now most days. Makes the sunny days all the more sweeter and of course we often get a second burst of summer right before the Autumn equinox arrives.
I am glad to be approaching Fall! The weather in Fort Wayne, IN has been very warm, dry and humid! Wishing for a nice and steady rain at least once a week to provide for nature! My plants and veggies took a beating this year!
Every Season has its own beauty and magic... but Autumn is very special for me, is soft, and calm but also reminds me the sense to let go, everything. Thank you for sharing beautiful scenes and very interesting information. I’m very glad to find you and love to follow your videos. Receive a big and warm Hug from Mexico! 💕😊✨🍀
Meenu Arumugam I love India 😍 I was flight attendant and have traveled the world, but one thing I could find only in your country is the magic of colors, nature, spices and pure soul of Indian people! Much love from Serbia to India❤️🇮🇳
I like to visit the cemeteries nearby and refresh my older family plots. Grave yards are not scary to me but where I pay my respects to those that came before.
I’m going to be moving to another continent in less than a month, and although it’s going to be new and exciting, I do catch myself feeling sentimental, especially as it’s currently my favourite season here in India (the monsoon: everything is lush and green and wild, there are wild peacocks everywhere, the last few mangoes are still yummy, the guavas have started, and the rain here isn’t the polite rain of Europe-over here, the raindrops are fat and it really storms). But thank you for your video. Your message of accepting the seasons is helping me look forward to the beautiful new life I hope to start.
I am going to be moving also, so I know that feeling. But just like Niamh said, we need to let go the old and embrace the new ✨ We are building our future and that must be exciting rigt 🤗 Wish you all the best dear ❤️
It sounds positively heavenly where you are in India by your description! Based on your ability to notice all the beauty around you I have no doubt you will find beauty no matter where you are in life.
Im in the state of Michigan in the US. It's the state that looks like a mitten. This is the 1st time watching and I couldn't of chose a lovelier video to watch. It is still hot and humid here, no rain just sun day after day. I find myself watching the sky for that telltale blue that indicates autumn is here. Autumn is my favorite season. Thank you for this beautiful video! God bless
I’m just south of you in Ohio. It has been so hot and dry this summer. We need to water garden plants almost every day. Definitely ready for a rainy day and cooler temperatures!
I'm always enthusiastic about the arrival of Autumn. I too live in Michigan and love Michigan Autumn. Color of leaves, walks on the beach, picking apples, tea and apple pie, cozy clothes and campfires!!
Kim W I am in Michigan also. I am so looking forward to Autumn, my favorite time of the year. Cool crisp air, cozy fires, candles, hot tea and a good book. Love to bake in the autumn also.
Autumn is my favourite season. Cool crisp days with cozy nights. Slow-cooking and baking again - baking on board in summer makes for a very hot boat...lol. The return of heavy BC rains and the cool air on your face. Snuggling down in a warm bed with a good book. Heaven. Enjoy your quiet, leisurely time Niamh, and thank you again for the peace you share with us each week. Namaste.
This makes my heart happy. I am doing much the same things, halfway round the world on coast of the Pacific Ocean in Washington state, u.s. - tending the last of the garden, jarring up the dried herbs, sitting down for a cup of tea while the rain patters outside, pulling the carrots, encouraging the pumpkins...I had to smile to see you sitting down to freshly picked & washed carrots, dipping them into homemade humus. I did the same yesterday...one of your previous videos had reminded me that making my own humus is sooo nice. I enjoy every bit of it, from soaking the dried chickpeas in my favorite thick pottery bowl, to deciding which herbs to add in the current batch. And how lovely to go out to the garden for my carrots to dip in. The changing of the seasons is always a deeply satisfying time for me. Thank you for capturing the warm "drawing inward" quality of the coming of autumn. Well done. ❤️ P.S. Fabulous "autumn" dress!!!
Every year I find there is a day when I step outside in the morning and smell the change in the air and know that autumn is coming. Even if the day is sunny and 'looks' like summer, it feels different. Although I find autumn and winter hard because of the dark and cold, I love the rhythm of the seasons. And each year, I look for the good things in each season. Now, I am enjoying the harvest, preparing some of my more delicate plants for overwintering, taking cuttings of others (because I don't have the space to bring them all inside!) and looking forward to candlelit evenings and winter crafts!
I know just what you mean! Summer is probably my least favorite season, but I still take time to enjoy the beauties and bounty of the season and not rush through it. Much as I love Fall and Winter, I know that once it arrives it'll be here to stay for 6 months so might as well try and make summer last lol.
Same, this specific smell is so promising. However, this time I haven't experienced it. The autumny feeling came up over night which was extra weird for me. I don't know if that makes any sense but it just happened too quickly haha
I can feel the change in the mornings. Crisp air, and I can smell the changing plant life. The trees and plants speak of change that is just around the corner.
This season has been especially hard for me, my dearest grandpa died a few weeks back. These days have been so bittersweet, I’m here in Gopalpur(a small fisherman village in Orissa,India) and old sweet memories keep creeping up as I sit under one of the huge coconut trees he planted(he was very fond of trees and almost built a jungle like garden by himself), all the jackfruit, bittergourd, mango, eggplant, and the hundreds of other beauties he planted are now flourishing. It is a gentle reminder that even this season, we all are growing in our slow beautiful ways. It’s hard to let go of the attachment I had with him but it’s also so important that I feel all my feelings and take it slow. Thank you for this reminder and this video!
Lots of Trees, what a lovely legacy to leave; sounds like he IS a very spiritual man. I am sure he is now somewhere safe and lovely, and keeping a loving eye on you 🙏
I come here for peace. Your videos have a magic. You speak so effortlessly! This channel is a constant reminder of how we in a fast paced world can slow down and enjoy the simple things of life.
You are so voicing the way I feel every day. The simpler your life is the more contented and peaceful you become. You welcome a day and learn to flow with. Being thankful is a component in this recipe, my joy would be that more people would take the simplified path in life xxx
Here in Canada, the weather is still warm but you can feel the fall in the air in the mornings. I have noticed that the geese are starting to fly south. That is always a sad sign for me, knowing we will soon be in for a long winter. By the end of October, we usually have snow on the ground for at least 5 to 6 months. It is pretty at Christmastime but it soon becomes tiresome, all that shovelling! I love the thought that you can grow vegetables all year long! I love to watch your videos, they are very calming and peaceful. Thanks for that!
Loved being transported to your lovely cool, overcast rainy weather (yes, I’m one of the few that prefer that weather) as we are still in the 90’s here in the states. The grass is certainly (and literally) greener there! Loved that the message was to be gentle on yourself and not to put too much undo stress on yourself especially during this uncertain time.
The way you decorate your house infects me, I'm glad to see everything being taken care of with great affection for you. The plant pot in the red window gave a charm in the environment making the atmosphere of the place lighter, I loved ...
We are having a LOVELY rainy day here in New England and I'm lucky to live on the sea, so watching the storm move and grow across the sea is always magical. I love your little escape your vlogs give. Truly lovely.
I live in an arid area and in the summertime rainy days take on a whole new meaning, the land needs water so much that we run outdoors and celebrate the rainfall! Sometimes we dance and shout! Haha I suppose if you get rain often its meaning is more calming, for me it’s extremely exciting! Lovely video!
It’s hurricane season here in Florida so lots of downpours. I miss the peaceful rain and change of seasons from when I lived in the Midwest. This video has me very nostalgic!
@@sustainfem Thanks a ton. Living in city during this quarentine is making things a little tough for me. So that moment I became overwhelmed. Glad to see someone caring and wishing me good. May Almighty bless you with every joy too. Sending love from Bangladesh 🌼
I am so happy to have the opportunity to see your videos, after I feel so calm. Your advice gives me "permission" to take care of myself and my mental health. Thank you ❤️
Just lovely as always. I focus very hard on not overdoing my 'to do' list or other commitments as I end up starting to feel overwhelmed. I am a 1940's enthusiast and cook from my ration books regularly as it is simple, nourishing food. It always reminds me that less is definitely more. X
When my week was (nearly always) a very hard week with so much work for so little money... than there comes MY sunday help: the peaceful Fairyland Cottage. Your videos, your voice are so calming that I can get enough energy for another hard week. Thank you from the bottom of ma heart. ❤🙏
The weather is changing here in Western Canada, too. The other night, I went outside and smelt Autumn on the air. This is always the first sign for me. Then yesterday, there was the familiar, streaky cloud pattern in the sky. I love the Autumn. Take care xox
It's late summer here in the mountains of WVa and at night we can hear the katydids chirping. We know fall is coming soon and the nights are cooler though days are still hot. I always feel a little sad as summer starts to wind down .
I love my 4 seasons, but especially fall. I love the colors, pumpkins, mums and the smells of the fall. I love Christmas, so with the start of the fall, it is the beginning of the "holiday" for me. Now I can't wait to make my home cozy for the cooler days.
Oh, I so miss the rain! Hot in the 90's here. Plants scorching and needing a lot of water. Looking forward to cooler autumn nights! Thank you for your lovely videos.
I love to watch and listen to your videos. I have Irish and Scotish roots and when I hear your voice and watch your videos it feels like being home. Some day I hope to visit. I love to sit with a book and some tea when it rains...very relaxing. When I can't sleep i play my rain sounds..out like a light..lol. Thanks for a wonderfully calm and relaxing video.
My dear, so glad to hear the videos help you calm down. So sorry you have been experiencing panic attacks because of the explosion. Sending you love and light and calmness. I’m here if you need anything. X
Hello friend, yes I think fall is my favorite season, but have learned to love each one for its unique blessings. We are working on over 25 inches of rain for August here in the rain forest of Western North Carolina. I'm thinking it will be closer to 35 as the month ends. Our yearly average is 90-110 inches. I think we will be way over that this year! It makes gardening a true challenge. Everything has some sort of fungus or mold, etc. growing on it, even in the greenhouse. I never let that stop me and we do enjoy some yummy veges in spite of it all. Thanks for the relaxing, calming videos! Take care.
Could do you please make a video on where do you buy clothing? I remember you had a video on the sustainable and natural fabrics you preferred having your clothes of.
So peaceful. I love the rainy days and fresh weather... i can´t wait. I´m tired of this hot summer. I love the way you apprecciate every single thing that you own. You see the beauty in every detail and moment. Thank you for this lovely video. ❤️❤️
Greetings from the prairies of Canada. Thank you for this very timely advice! I have to say I'm so envious of all the rain and green where you live. It has been so hot and dry here (I live in a semi-dessert climate). Fall is just around the corner though, with it's cozy chilly mornings, the trees turning different colors, and the garden all being put to rest for the winter. =)
My son was checking the weather in Dublin and said we need to move. (we will come to Ireland one day). California has been up to 113 F. Lightning storms and fires. Thank you for the refreshing rain. So beautiful~~~
We're getting those same rainy days here in Scotland! I love the way you change the whole way of seeing the day from a negative to a positive and use it to nurture yourself.
I needed a little calming down today and when the time was right I watched this video and it really helped. Videos like this are so welcomed and appreciated especially considering the times we're living in right now. So, thank you for sharing your warm, calming, and delightful world.
I completely agree with you that the more desperate we are for an outcome the less likely it is to happen as within that we are fearing it won't happen so feeding it negative energy. Bright Blessings from an equally wet Wales x
Here in Kentucky we've had some rainy days, but not nearly as many as my soul craves. I'm just enjoying these late Summer days while awaiting the arrival of Autumn. Can't wait for that fresh, crisp air and cool nights snuggled under my flannel sheets with coffee and a book...a good ghost story perhaps! Beautiful, restful vlog as always ❤
We spent a week under and sometimes in the cloud until Thursday when it brightened up...just for Thursday! But it was still beautiful....and so calming, you don't feel the need to make the most of a rainy day somehow, and it has the effect of slowing you down to a more manageable pace...what you said 2min50 - 3min30 was exactly what I needed to hear today...bless you x
We are in the middle of a hot dry spell here in the Midwest USA. Your cool, peaceful, rainy day is quite refreshing, thank you. Have a good week ahead; love your videos. 😊
Thank you, Niamh, for bringing me back to Ireland virtually. Your videos make me long for Wicklow but at the same time they make me thinnk of the ways of making slow living a thing here at home, in Slovakia. You are truly very inspiring with your gentle, peaceful way. Sending you much love, to you, your loved ones and the beautiful county Wicklow, I miss it so very much.
I am up at a 6:30 am hour. Ready to rise with another daily cycle. It actually rained here overnight too 🌧️ I love autumn. I was born in that season and everything around is colorful!
this morning I was sitting outside in my yard to drink my coffee and was watching the leaves fall! I don't think that I have ever actually watched the leaves falling before! So, yes, autumn is definitely coming! my flowers are not producing but we do have plants that are getting ready to give us an abundance of hot peppers and green beans! each season to each own! thanks for sharing! xoxo
I am in California. Dealing with wildfires, smoke and possible lightening storms. Enjoyed seeing your beautiful rainy weather. Our autumn comes later in the year. It was so peaceful to see your wet weather. Thank you for sharing!
Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The very first video I saw you were plating the meal on some lovely dishes. I think it's important to feed the senses in your home. I am a believer that pretty dishes, utensils, cloth napkins and even cookware needs to be quality and simple beauty. Nourish the senses as well as fueling the body. Love that you are blessed with fresh produce and herbs from the garden! Few lovely things. Simple food. Share with the garden & birds. Don't be in a rush. Live in the moment & savour it!😊
Somehow this video and channel found me when I really needed it and I'm so glad it did. It's just what I need right now - peace and calm in my life. Plus I have all the pleasure of watching the videos I've missed. Thank you.
I felt really calm while watching the video. It's a really pretty video. Especially, the sound of rain felt so beautiful. Sometimes I should turn on the candle and focus on the sound outside. Life with nature is beautiful.
Good Niamh and everyone. Thank you for sharing this lovely calming video which i am viewing this Monday morning. Yes i do i feel the change in weather tempetures and i love the seasons. xxx
Where I live it's still 30°C every day - no sign of autumn yet. I'm still enjoying summer but can't wait for those peaceful, quiet, rainy Sunday afternoons!
This video was perfect for me today, in this rainy, chilly afternoon. I decided to slow down, burn some candles, warm a stew from another day for dinner and light the wood burner, first time this autumn. Right now I am listening to the burning wood and rain on my window, all wrapped up in a wool blanket. Early autumn is quite nice as well.
I just found your channel a few weeks ago and look forward to it every week now! I live in Ohio and we’re starting to feel a change in the seasons here as well. Sending anyone who reads this a big virtual hug 💗
Letting go of having everything perfect and right is just the besy way to put it,but a lot of work to get there. Still-the best way to go! Lovely carrots!
Oh, I was getting sad because of the fading summer, just traveling back home after a waking holiday in southern Denmark - but after watching your video, I am remembering the good things, and am now looking foreward to it - thank you! 💕
I'm very grateful for your channel. Just listening to you calms me. You explain things so simply that even a little child will understand. I love how you take care of the plants and live a quality life and share it with us. I have learnt so much from you. Thank you. ❤
Hi Niamh! It was so soothing to watch this video of yours while it was raining here in FL where I am. Very relatable words, inspiring and soothing messages, and beautiful uplifting vibes. Your videos- and you being you- truly helps me feel better, especially when I'm feeling down. Thank you! Lots of peace, Love, beauty, and sweet slow moments to you dear. Hugs from warm FL
Such a lovely reminder to slow down, let go and honor what you enjoy. We are still having quite warm days of Summer here in Wisconsin and while I love the Fall season I am focusing on enjoying this moment right here and now. Thank you for the cozy video which is always a wonderful way to start my day and week. Peace and good health to you and everyone!! ✌️🌞🌎
Most days are still hot and humid here (Canadian West Coast), but we are starting to get the rainy days again. On the weekend we have about 10 minutes of the most rain I've seen at once. I'm enjoying the smells. I'm not really a summer person but even I will admit there is some beautiful magic in the late summer.
I just love your videos. I live in the US, Indiana. Our weather is very hot right now with cool nights. Not much rain. But I enjoyed sharing in your relaxing setting and weather. I wanted to add that my family has encouraged me to start my own TH-cam channel and yours is an inspiration to me. Working on starting this within the next few weeks, after planning for a very long time. Blessings to you!
So glad to know that you will continue to pop in here. I was thinking (after your cute video with Terry) that we wouldn't be seeing you for several months. I always find your vlogs calming & peaceful which we all need. Oh! And send some of that rain to the Pacific Northwest please! XO

Ah thanks. Good to know. I love these type of videos best too. X
We've been having some rainy spots every day here where I am and I'm loving every bit of it, can't help but find the rain soothing and pretty.
This is a beautiful time of year .I am currently enjoying a lovely rainy day ,feels peaceful and mellow
The weather is changing here in Western Canada, too. The other night, I went outside and smelt Autumn on the air. This is always the first sign for me. Then yesterday, there was the familiar, streaky cloud pattern in the sky. I love the Autumn. Take care xox
You make me happy with your Sunday videos. I love rainy days..Thank you for the peace you reflect in your videos in these crazy times.🥰
Rainy days at summer's end are so fascinating, soothing and filled with inspiration of things to come... Thank you for another beautiful video!
So true!
I have felt the seasons beginning to change this last week here in Nashville TN. I love feeling cosy inside on a rainy day ;)
It's late summer here in the mountains of WVa and at night we can hear the katydids chirping.
Relaxing and inspiring! Thunder storms, sunny days and now a mouse in the bathroom!
Oh, I so miss the rain! Hot in the 90's here. Plants scorching and needing a lot of water. Looking forward to cooler autumn nights! Thank you for your lovely videos.
It’s Sunday evening 7pm where I live. Just the perfect way to wind down the day and the weekend 🌱
Same here, you from the Ph?
It’s 7AM here in northeastern USA
It's 10pm here and I'm using this video to help me wind down before bed.
It's 9am here in Maine where I am and I love starting my Sunday with coffee and Fairyland Cottage!!
Everything looks magical and enchanting. Love the way of your green house!
I’ve having the worst panic attacks after the Beirut Explosion (i am a survivor), your videos have been calming me down, so thank you alot.
My dear, so glad to hear the videos help you calm down. So sorry you have been experiencing panic attacks because of the explosion. Sending you love and light and calmness. I’m here if you need anything. X
Your life seems like it’s out of a story book! Where you live is gorgeous and I love how much you appreciate it and take care of it!
It's beautiful how you reminds that simplicity is the key to happiness and peace... Thanks Mini milist... ❤️
Really hot here in southern Ontario Canada! Looking forward to cool and cozy autumn days!
So peaceful. I love the rainy days and fresh weather... i can´t wait. I´m tired of this hot summer. I love the way you apprecciate every single thing that you own. You see the beauty in every detail and moment. Thank you for this lovely video. ❤️❤️
Oh carrot top pesto! I just threw a huge amount of carrot tops into the compost. I'll be sure to try that. Thanks for another beautiful video.
Hehe! Next time next time for sure!
Comforting.....calming.....centering.......absolutely beautiful
You are living my dream! I am so happy I have just found your channel. Ireland. Minimal living. Gardening. What a joy! I can't wait to see more
Very peacefull. We here in California have heat and fire, smoke and Covid. Good to let go and be with these times.
Oh! How I miss autumn and winter! It's still summer here..
I thank you from the depth of my heart for this beautiful gift🌸🌱
My son was checking the weather in Dublin and said we need to move. (we will come to Ireland one day). California has been up to 113 F. Lightning storms and fires. Thank you for the refreshing rain. So beautiful~~~
We're getting those same rainy days here in Scotland! I love the way you change the whole way of seeing the day from a negative to a positive and use it to nurture yourself.
Thanks Jacqui. Change the perspective and life becomes easier I find.
I needed a little calming down today and when the time was right I watched this video and it really helped. Videos like this are so welcomed and appreciated especially considering the times we're living in right now. So, thank you for sharing your warm, calming, and delightful world.
Thanks Kate for saying. It is lovely to hear how much the videos are appreciated. X
I completely agree with you that the more desperate we are for an outcome the less likely it is to happen as within that we are fearing it won't happen so feeding it negative energy. Bright Blessings from an equally wet Wales x
Ah wet Wales! Bright Blessings to you too!
I needed to hear this message - so soothing. Thank you 💚
Thanks for changing my gloomy rainy day into a delight. It’s all about perspective!
Thanks! Have a good week too xxx
It's such a gorgeous environment. Also, thank you for all the kind words.
This touches my soul very deeply!
this morning I was sitting outside in my yard to drink my coffee and was watching the leaves fall!
I love the rain. Thank you for sharing Ireland and your cottage. Lovely
Live in the moment & savour it!😊
It's sunny and 30 here today, sipping my green smoothie and listening to you. Ontario, Canada
Somehow this video and channel found me when I really needed it and I'm so glad it did. It's just what I need right now - peace and calm in my life. Plus I have all the pleasure of watching the videos I've missed. Thank you.
Rachel Moo ah I love to hear that Rachel. It’s a pleasure to have you here watching. There are over 200 videos so it should keep you busy. Hehe ;-)
I felt really calm while watching the video. It's a really pretty video. Especially, the sound of rain felt so beautiful. Sometimes I should turn on the candle and focus on the sound outside. Life with nature is beautiful.
yet another lovely, mindful moment for us to enjoy!
I love the little wooden brush and dust pan you used on your tabletop!
Wonderful to see rain and calm as I sit in California near the huge fires. Thank you so much for this moment of beauty and perspective.
I hope the fire subside soon!
Autumn is my favorite season of the year!
😍😍the leaves 🍁 changing colors, the crisp air, the spices in coffee, and perfect jacket weather!
Yippee! Snap!! Never long enough
Thank you for keeping me company while I stand at the kitchen sink washing vegetables from the garden, and preparing to make blackberry jam today ♡
It is still hot here. Summer lasts well through August in Texas.
I`m in Argentina and it is winter, love you peaceful channel.
Hugs
Dry and hot in Utah here but watching your video brought me the calm and cool air of a raining day. Thank you for sharing!
So much beauty all over , plus your wise words and practical teachings are therapeutic.
Here in Florida, we are changing seasons, too. From Hot as Hell to Hurricane. What I’d give for a rainy, cool day! Lovely video.
Oh, I was getting sad because of the fading summer, just traveling back home after a waking holiday in southern Denmark - but after watching your video, I am remembering the good things, and am now looking foreward to it - thank you! 💕
Ulla Conrad ah wonderful to hear. A walking holiday in Denmark sounds wonderful. Loads of fresh air and microbiome for your gut to keep you healthy x
Ah wow. That’s great. Let me know when you do! Great to share your wisdom here on YT.
So glad to know that you will continue to pop in here. I was thinking (after your cute video with Terry) that we wouldn't be seeing you for several months. I always find your vlogs calming & peaceful which we all need. Oh! And send some of that rain to the Pacific Northwest please! XO
I am craving for rain...Burgundy is so dry and hot! Fall seems still far. Your Fairyland Cottage is so quiet, so green, I love it!
Thank you for this uplifting video. Your lucky to have real wood windows in your cottage. Its becoming a rare thing today.
