      Right, say that just because something's this old, as if they were all just shouting for joy every time they finish one at the end of the line, and as if no one ever does today. This is a ridiculous attitude and I bet you're 25 years older than this thing.

      @@First-q6l: Hahahaha, 🤣😂😂🤣🤣 WRONG. Manufacturers wouldn't know my attitude unless I worked hard to have them hear my voice on something specific. And it's not like I would say to any of them anything like, "Change your [x] design to a [y] one so 85YO farts will whine about your supposed 'lack of pride' for no good reason." Their quality has nothing to do with supposed "taking pride in their work" or some falsely perceived "lack" of it, silly. It's about design specifications. They don't go, "Uh, we don't really have pride in our work anymore, so we're gonna use thinner metal here or/and fewer rivets there or a smaller motor," etc., duh.
      Also, NOT everything built nowadays is crap, anyway. I've used plenty of products built in just the last handful of years that have been working great for plenty of time. Just because something's new enough that it wasn't built by your parents' generation doesn't mean it's crap, DUH.
      So yeah, you're welcome for my having shed light on your attempted "point," if only to show people how ridiculous it is! 🤣🤣🤣

    • @musicnerd72
      @musicnerd72 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@HelloKittyFanManIt's not ridiculous. There's still something to be said about older consumer products being made better. Just look at the drive system of an old Whirlpool belt drive or direct drive. Then look at all the cheap plastic that goes into the newer machines. There definitely IS a difference and they will NOT last anywhere as long as the older units. It's common sense.

    • @HelloKittyFanMan
      @HelloKittyFanMan หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@musicnerd72: Yes it _is_ ridiculous, because he was claiming that supposed lower qualities are based on the supposed "lack of pride in the builders' work" when that's not what it's based on at all. Ya gotta pay more attention to what people actually say, because I never said that there wasn't a difference in qualities, duh. But the builders could take all the pride in their work that they want but still have to follow the companies' designs. Those have nothing to do with each other! And again, not all current day things are made worse.

      In 2016 I decided to buy a new Hot Point Washer Dryer pair that were on sale. I didn't need to because my GE Profile washer (that worked just like the one you see here, after 20 yrs) was still good. After I saw how these H.E. washers work, I was sorry I got rid of my GE profile. The downside of my H.E. washer is the rinse cycle.. it just sprinkles the clothes.

      I suppose you're from the US, because y'all use those top loaded washers there. Here in the Europe we use automatic ones and they have the same problem. New ones require messing with buttons and knobs to set a program, while old ones just use some switches and one dial. My 1988 USSR washer is a thing I would never replace, because I see how new machines just don't know how to wash :)
      It takes over 100 litres of water for one washing cycle :)

      @@LoveLee-jz1tj Incorrect. *DETERGENT* cleans. Water only moves the detergent through the fibers. If you're dead-set on using a terrible, inefficient, self-damaging design of washer that all *actually developed* countries abandoned decades or even half a century ago, then "lots and lots of water" is needed to move the clothes around and prevent damage to the machine. The solution of course, is to tumble the clothes in a concentrated detergent solution with just enough water to saturate everything... but American manufacturers couldn't figure out how to do that without copying (WhirlPoop) or just going bankrupt trying (MayFail).

I have the original 1984 Maytag set I selected when my house was built. To date only put a belt on the gas dryer in 2021. Except for normal cleanings, no other repairs ever needed. Machines, of almost any type, make, model, for whatever purpose that were made in the USA, were of great workmanship, quality, reliability, durability, and were not expensive. There were so many good brands back in the day. As for washing machines, Whirlpool, Maytag, and even Sears Kenmore, were some of the top choices. Some people would scoff at Sears products, but they actually had very good appliances, tools, power tools and even power equipment(which was made for them). If I remember, Bradford or Bradley was the one who made their garden tractors way, way back in the day. Those things were heavy duty. Don't forget when Kitchen Aid was a good blender/mixer. Singer had rock solid sewing machines for a time. I have my grandmother's antique Singer that folded into a wood desk type table. The machine was beautiful and flawless in appearance, at least until someone stuck in a garage for a while and the elements started getting to it. Remember when Harley's and Indian were THE motorcycles. Schwinn was the bicycle.
    America also had many piano companies that built high quality pianos back in the day. Ludwig's were the drums. On and On.
    Now, everything is made in china or elsewhere. All the chinese products are high teck, but low quality and durability. Everything is plastic these days.

But the homeowner grade stuff that manufacturers put out there now (should I say, slap their logos on), is total garbage. the lawn tractors and mowers are basically all made by the same company. The manufacturers found, that slapping their logo on a piece of crap that they didn't even make, is somehow more profitable for them than making their own. I knew a family that had a "Lady Kenmore" washer from Sears, which of course was made by Whirlpool. It ran smooth and quiet. They had it for many years. I don't know what year the washer was. They couldn't get away with branding any product as "Lady" anything today.

    I'm a fan of these OLD SCHOOL 🏫 washers and dryers. I REALLY like the "Woo-Woo" sound these washers make during the wash cycle. They clearly used ENOUGH water 💧 to actually CLEAN your clothes. These washer and dryer sets often gave 25+ years of service before a new set was needed. These washers and dryers were built 👌 to be serviced. I've got one thing to say about the new machines today, as all manufacturers don't make them as well. Mounds of cash 💸, piles of trash 🗑. Your friend, Jeff.

I got electrocuted by it when I had my hand on it and touched a cold water faucet. I saw stars for a brief second before I was pulled off of it. The next day it was well-grounded so it would not happen agian.
