Yes "The Rock Peddler" has or at least had them late last year and I bought the complete series as a christmas gift for myself. I am excited to have them and hope I can do them justice.
Thanks Mike for another great faceting video. I have also bought rough that is too dark to get a decent looking stone when cut. Large reflector facets on the pavillion near or sometimes a bit below the critical angle helps to lighten the color.
(I got the first "like".) Nice job, Mike. I think the ghost-facet is an excellent solution. I've cut a couple myself, but not nearly as well as yours came out. Thanks for the very informative video.
Great video. I learned a lot. It was very helpful about changing the angle so you don't change the size. Knowing the critical angle really makes sense to me now beyound insuring brilliance. Loved the ghost facet trick. Thanks again Bopie.
Another great video. I loved the ghost facet solution! I never fail to learn something by watching your videos. I will also do the white paper test on all my rough! Thank You
Yes the Rock Peddler dose carry a good collection of Books by Jeff Graham. I am Learning to Facet gems and I bough three of Jeff's books. I plan to buy all of them . Go to the Rock Peddler for Jeff Grahams Faceting Design Books. And an Instruction manual too he printed.
There are many. If you want the best book on this topic, I would refer you to any of the Face Book gem cutting sites. Join one of those sites and ask and you will get a list of the best books. For me, I just use google to get the critical angle.
Your videos are amazing. I think you need to change the intro to be a hook instead of the cartoon, like show the final result and say "watch how we turn this...to THIS" or something. I was confused by the cartoon the first time and almost swiped to the next one.
Interesting....I am nearing the end of the bottles...and both bottles have roughly the same amount remining...so I think 'eye balling' two about equal puddles of epoxy works...I don't think you need to be 100% exact on a 50-50 mix.
Great video! And a beautiful stone! Also, there has to be a referance to Cliff and Jaws from Vintage Time in here lol. The dog has to be a referance to Jaws from his channel lol. Is jaws jewel theif?!
Thank you! I love Cliff's videos! They are awesome! The cartoon is an evolving mystery...so nope, I can't confirm or deny the identity of the four legged star of the cartoon :-)
It almost looks like Sapphire in colour ,great job
Thank you.
Very dark but still very beautiful
I agree. Thanks.
Cheers mate I often battle with dark tasmanian sapphires
Thanks.

So far I only have 3 of the books...I never thought about getting them as a Christmas Gift! Good idea!

Thanks Larry.
I think you could alter the design , and make it symmetrical by adding two facet in opposite side, between two previous facets .
Sounds like a good idea!

Curiosity is there a book on the critical angles of the various stones?

Thanks. I will have to change the opening in the not to distant future as the evolving cartoon story does have an ending....coming soon.
If you wanted you could use your scale to weigh your epoxy if you want an accurate mix

I got all of Jeff’s books at the rock peddler - sadly I can’t find any of Fred Van Sant’s books “Star Cuts” that Jeff purchased the rights to.
maybe you could ask on Facebook at one of the faceting group sites.
Awesome!
Thank you!
