I made my old Acoustic Accordion play like the Roland V by replacing the original Reeds with Harmonica Reeds of the same pitch. It actually sounded a bit like a Khaen which is a Thailand Bamboo Harmonica so I call it the "Khaencordion".
Thanks for the lesson. Of particular interest was the part about how to avoid the mistakes people tend to make when playing any type of electronic instrument. It was fun watching this video.
Well, it is an very good explanation and comparison between acoustic and electronic,but I get a question that you did not answer on your presentation ! It is about the weight . Could you tell me how many pounds weight a regular,I mean ,the Atlantic Hohner and for example a FR-7 from Roland? I'll appreciate your answer.Thank You.

Hello, I am on my second FR 1X accordion and the same problem has happened again. The plastic case inside the bass section where the bass strap is attached to brakes and the strap becomes loose. The plastic do not seem to be strong enough and with the pulling pressure eventually brakes. I do not think that Roland stress tested this area properly. Roland did exchange my first accordion and probably will do the same with this one but I am afraid it will happen again and I did not want to ho trough the hassle of shipping and waiting for the new one. So, I decided to open it up and fixed myself by screwing a piece of wood to the end of the strap. The wood gets trapped between the case and the slot (where the strap goes in) and so far is working great for me. Has anyone experienced this problem?
Sorry for missing this comment one year ago. Sometimes we are too busy to answer, and then the message falls too far down the list. I just happened to notice it today. I agree about the plastic on the bass side of the FR-1x. I had the problem myself on my own FR-1x. I did a similar solution with pieces of wood. I epoxied hard wood (oak) to reinforce the plastic. Like you, it fixed the problem. Other than that, I’ve had no problems. The FR-1x is a wonderful instrument. Leon

Alvaro Ferreira Sorry for the late reply. Those videos you are referring to were removed because they became part of a DVD product that is now sold at Roxy’s. It’s called the FR-1x “Getting Started” DVD.
Hi Leon, I really appreciated you videos with the Bk7-m. Perhabs you can help me. I have connected a MIDI-equipped accordion to it (not a Roland V). However, I use the V-accordion setting. To get reasonable results I changed the NTA setting to only those channels in the bass section. Otherwise it produces chord changes on any single note I play on the treble section. Unfortunately, when I switch of the Bk7-m it allways seems to loos the changese I´ve made to the NTA setting and instead runs the instrument setup mode. Can I do anything to keep/save the changes I´ve made? You can reach me on info@akkordeonline.de or if you´d prefer, I give you a call at your desired time. Sorry for not noticing your question before. We don't monitor comments in this channel all the time. Whenever you turn the BK-7m ON, it presents the Wizard. When you save your settings, it will remember them. However, the next time you turn it ON, it will present the Wizard again, but you don't have to use it. Press the [Exit] button. Chances are you will see that the BK does save your original saved conditions.
I asked myself the very same question when I watched this video for the first time! 😂 ...And now all of the sudden I'm a owner of a Roland FR-1xb V-accordion 😉
