I know tons of people shit on accordions being somewhat weird; but, this instrument has to be one of the most complicated instruments I've seen. Learning the Piano is hard enough, but learning it one handed and sideways. I don't even know where to start. Like I don't even know whats happening on the left hand bass notes. It looks like the cock pit on an airplane. Kudos to anyone who knows how to play this instrument. You have one of the greatest talents a musician has.

i saw Randy Bachman (of the Guess Who and of Bachman Turner Overdrive) on his "Vinyl Tap Tour" and he said he started on accordion and gave up. Went to guitar. Even tried playing it with it laying on the floor and his brother pushing bellows...that way he could see what he was doing with his left hand...
Not sure if you’ve found this out yet, but the bass buttons are set in rows a fifth apart. The columns are, from the bellows out, counterbass (major 3rd above the bass note), bass, major, minor, 7th, and diminished.
@@tecran89the bass was one of the simplest parts for me, but I also love theory and intervals and whatnot. Transferring knowledge from piano and guitar was pretty simple
I can't wait to start playing on my Roland accordion once it get's here in the mail. I have some really cool ideas to incorporate it with some of my original songs on guitar. Thanks for this informative vid. Alicia is a very talented gal. Kudos!

I must say, rather impressive, although I remain somewhat reluctant...I'll have to try one. I could hardly replace my Settimio Soprani. If she offers it to me at the shop I'll buy it for sure.
I recommend it, I just bought mine recently. It is super nice, very well made and fun to play. Just a bit heavy. Also great for students like me, because I can play it with headphones and not annoy anyone with my exercises. Ignore what the other guy said, the keys are not smaller and the bellows very dynamic. The bellows can be adjusted in a large number of different ways.
That's all very nice! I would suggest making the bellows action more realistic. You get a lot of music out of very little bellows work... unlike a traditional accordion. It takes some of the visual appeal away.

Red FR-3x would be perfect. But I know one can't have everything the way they want. That's just the reality of life. Unless I had enough money to request Roland to make me a bespoke one in red. But hey, Roland doesn't even want to reissue the Jupiter-8 or D-50, never even mind an FR-3x in red :)
As hilariously cool as these things are to me, 2.4k USD for the entry model is ssssssteeeeeeeeep. And this is 7 years later... err, closer to 8. Big nope, guys.
From my grandfather and I really like it, but it has quite some flaws, like the piano keys go like 3cm deep... I also can't really read notes and I think especially bass will be hard for me
