  • Continuing the drainage around the back corner of the barn. At this location I will have (do have as you will see) a low spot, especially when I build up the grade at the back of the barn. Used the RK25 backhoe and bucket to prep the location for and install an 18" x 18" Standartpark Catch Basin.
Hard Clay and some pretty big limestone rocks stood in the way of making quick work of this project. Was very glad to get it started however, so that I can continue to profile the landscape around the back of the barn.

Every Castle needs a moat! My drains are stopped up and need to be dug out. You are doing it the right way... Looking good...

Dude thanks a bunch for sharing. I have heard of a “catch basin”. But now that I see it I will be using one In an area I am about to repair. Thanks!!!

Great new video Denny!!! I will likely be getting a smaller one to install next to my driveway where the drive serves as a dam for water draining off the main lawn :( Thinking of getting a 12"x12" and use 4" pipe as the volume of water will be less at that location.

I was wondering, when you used your backhoe , when digging your trench, did you have to switch from backhoe to tractor every time you needed to move you position or did you leave the tractor on neutral and used the backhoe feet to hold your position and used your backhoe to push your tractor back to the neck position?

I got off and repositioned. I think your suggestion would work great if just going in a straight line. Used to do that with real backhoes.

What kind of pole barn is it?

Howdy ShellStud. Not completely sure of your question. If you are referring to the 'brand' such as Morton etc, then I do not know. It hired Perkins Pole Barns in North Central Kentucky to design/permit/build it for me (Shell, doors, windows and concrete). Does this answer your question?

Nice quality videos, what kind of video camera do you use ?

Thanks for your question... when I'm talking directly to the camera it is typically my Canon EOS M100. I like that it has a forward facing screen, down side is you cannot hook up an external mike. When I'm moving the camera around it is likely my GoPRO Hero 5. And if it is a newer drone shot, Hero 4. Nothing overly expensive for fancy.
