A lot of you are asking why I didn't just pour through the window. Here''s why: -The window is too high off the ground to setup a chute I can use a wheel barrow with. I tried this with the gravel already. Notice how I had to shovel the gravel in? Also notice the flower beds in the way. -I have to work the concrete between batches because I can't mix fast enough to work it all at once. By the time i'm mixing the last batches, the first mixes would be going off. This happened on this job. -Mixing everything at once and then going down to work it is not good use of my time. It's 3 minutes per mix in the mixer that could be spent shoveling or floating but outside it's playing with fidget spinners. -Okay then work it between batches? Running around the house, down the stairs, into the basement and back up again between mixes wastes time. Maybe if there was some way to mix right by the location that's getting poured?
Are people really askong that a lot? Feels strange considering how you explained it well in the video already as well in the shorts... I feel like if they cant see the vid, theyre not that likely to read comments lol Then again, engagement is engagement. Keep up the good stuff
Perfect title and thumbnail combo. S tier editing and scripting, especially for this type of content. Very funny and relatable all the way through and I have 0 intentions of pouring a slab any time soon. I hope the algorithm rewards you well.
I laughed way to friggin hard at the barrel roll, my wife finally came in the office to make sure I was ok. I'm glad you didn't get more seriously hurt.
son of a floor man (and a floor man as well) here,. all i gotta say is dont do that epoxy floor man,. Get a diamond grinder and make sure to find the islands with water and make the floor as flat as possible and then use a denisifier, it makes the concrete look like a beautiful mirror finish and lasts way longer than epoxy. most of my job is tearing out epoxy floors of replacing them with densified floors
I'm actually a former floor man myself, painted industrial floors for 10 years, did some polishing and densifying jobs in that time. You're suggestion is a solid solution given most consumer grade epoxy is crap (I had to remove an old coat to do mine). The floor is done - I used an extremely high quality industrial grade epoxy, bulletproof, won't amber, will most likely outlive me. You'll have to wait for that video for more details!
I don’t know 2% of what you know about concrete so no criticisms there. But I know plenty about videography and you are an excellent host and the editing and overall production is killer. I would assume this channel has 100k subs. A very rare good recommendation from the algorithm. Great video brother and good work on the project.
Also a rec from my algorithm. I find myself with these projects ALL THE TIME. But my ass is alone-alone. All my boys (all who are competent in construction, of which I am mediocre competent) always seem to be calling out, or coming over, drinking the keg I bought to fuel the mayhem, and then standing around, criticizing every decision I made prior to the job, with their dicks in their hands. So...I empathize with fucking yourself into doing it alone. Nice work, good watch. Liked and subscribed. I'm putting a metal roof on my mom's barn, wanna help? 😉

Thanks for the flashback to the time my father conscripted my brother and me to help him put in a concrete floor, in our basement! It was a 200 year old dirt floor, and we worked it in sections, which then became the forms for subsequent sections…this was about 60 yeas ago…I’m going to share this video to my brother, who’ll probably get a kick out of it, too! Oh, our mixer was all metal with no grounding wire, so, many many zaps!!!
when i first started in construction we were doing a fairly large residential basement pour with a borrowed concrete vibrator. as the new guy my job was to hold the motor so the other guy could drop the dildo end into the forms. the motor was an all steel cased unit that was missing the ground prong. my arms were tingling the entire time i was holding it up. dude on the dildo end over vibrated one section and a couple of the snap ties let go. we managed to semi save it because i noticed it almost right away, but the form still bulged. couple days later i'm jack hammering half the day to remove the excess concrete. good times.
My man. 3 years later and you've come back to the basement! That was I think the first video I watched. Found another use for all the buckets too! Great job. And lucky that your barrel role moment doesn't end up like a live leak video posted on a Laotian basket weaving forum.

Hell yeah man as someone who has done enough concrete work to not ever want to again(not that much tbh) this video made me laugh a lot. I can still feel the extended burn when it gets between clothing and skin, when the dust sticks to your sweat and activates on all exposed skin. Good times! Great video.
Bro that was funny, lol. Good on you for keeping the screw-ups in the video, really adds to the development, and makes the whole process a bit more wholesome. I died laughing at Mistake #2. I Subbed bro, gimmie more content like this!
It’s always good to see someone do something like this because hard head people like me are like, ya, I can do that and save some money. But in my experience, having poured out a lot of concrete, subbing out a line pump and having the ready mix delivered will give you better mud and more time to polish it up. It really is worth the extra money. Probably double the cost of this job but 5 times better quality finish and a lot less trouble. I hate wearing a respirator. I enjoyed the video, and I like your short pants.
Haha! Dang, man - this is the first thing of yours I’ve seen and weirdly I’ve been wanting to do this too. The guys who built my house cut some strange corners and the “crawlspace” beside the basement where the hot water heater and air-mover lives had gravel put down over just earth. No vapor barrier and some odd choices. I’ve wanted to just make a cement floor in there, somehow, and now will be thinking harder about what that project might actually look like. Appreciate the laughs and insights, honestly.

I can still feel the extended burn when it gets between clothing and skin, when the dust sticks to your sweat and activates on all exposed skin. Good times! Great video.
The algorithm gave me your single-man foundation repair video the other day, thrilled I only had to wait a week for the sequel. Solid work.
Wow, this channel is a rare gem. The quality is so high and you are funny as hell. Why do you have so few subscribers?!
only 30% but i love that this type of video has conditioned me to expect the “mistakes” portion. Need to know what not to do. sick vid!
Your honesty was worth the thumbs up
So glad to see you post another video!
Damn, I didn't expect it to put him on a spin cycle like that. Tires swept the legs and everything.
this channels definitely going to blow up, ive watch so many of your videos since i got recommended this one today.
