Would you call this emo? Honestly asking, like when I was growing up chasing post hardcore bands around that was like a dirty word, I remember seeing at the drive in, and them asking to please stop calling them an emo band because they didn't wanna be pigeonholed (I think the mara volta probably settled that, prolly why they did it lol) where as the Sparta half of the band didn't seem to care, much like thursday who I adores in HS never seemed to care. But yeah the emotions def there, I more mean in a genre sense. I guess it's close enough regardless I'm just used to their being more screaming but I grew up on 3rd wave post hardcore or emo if you will.

I will always remember this first hitting the Internet hard in 2011. Anyone, besides people who saw them live on tour or experienced the Little Rock scene directly, is lying when they act like they knew this EP and their other tracks. My point? That is beautiful. So much undiscovered music coming out. From Zabelle Panosian, who yes was known but not widely available, to Everyone Asked About You. I know it's always been true that tape cultures and other esoteric scenes go unnoticed, but what's nice about the late 2000s, 2010s, and now 2020s is, we mean unequivocally under-known artists (regardless of their tape distribution company) being released personally by one of the members theirself etc. Reminds me of the trend of the Thai tapes blogs scene about 10 years ago.

Very true, I'm just hoping music blog culture doesnt die.
The TH-cam algo is the reason an army of westerners are now huge fans of somewhat obscure 1970s/80s Japanese jazz (me included). It's great how much new music we're able to find rather than being tied to what CD's we can buy or what's on the radio. Cool time to be alive tbh.
i followed the emo scene pretty closely from 1999 to 2015 or so and i never heard of this band before today so i don't think it hit the internet that hard. reminds me a bit of La Pieta whose 2001 ep Summer is a brighter lost gem imo. th-cam.com/video/CQVe9A0-beY/w-d-xo.html
