These were the greatest Four Tops of my 60's! and in 2023, thank our Lord that the Duke still carries this greatest group of my Motown! The tears always fall down my checks when I hear my Four Tops all these years! What a wonderful life I have had with the best music ever from my Four Tops!

Levi Stubbs is my all time favourite singer. He couid easily have beej a bigger household name by going solo, but decided to stick by his friends, which just makes me admire the man as well as the voice. Love you Levi and RIP.

Levi had the offer to play the part Billy dee Williams played in Lady sings the blues with Diana Ross. When he found out the rest of the guys weren't included he walked out and he and his wife flew home from Los Angeles. Now that IS A MAN COMMITTED . ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL. GOD BLESS THE MANS SOUL.

Coming up near Detroit was a godsend in the sixties and seventies, Motown music was everything! I thank my Mom and Pops for teaching this white boy what real music is.

Four Tops were amazing but come on…they weren’t even the best Motown group let alone male group at Motown. Listen to some of those old Motown revues the Temptations were on another whole other level to the Four Tops.

This had to have been their last filmed Concert...Lawrence died in 1997....so sad...no doubt one of the top tier groups in music....
Levi perfomed in 2000 i think that was his last concert he was no able to perform anymore.

and he sang a line of
“I Can’t Help Myself”.
That was his last live appearance.

Duke Fakir has just released a book 'I'll be There: My life with the Four Tops' I am reading it right now.
Duke is working on a musical about their lives.
He also just put out an autobiography.

What a wonderful stage performance by The Four Tops wow there's no one like them Levi Duke o b i e Lawrence made every minute count in that audience singing with them. The band was so great as it stepped out of its ring and jumped down and surrounded them with nothing but horns blowing out loud as they could. Thank you so much Duke for keep on traveling more than 68 years. My family my brother saw you first in Pittsburgh 1957. I was blessed to see you 2022 April 4th team what a blessing a proclamation was given to you for all the work you and Motown groups have done over the last 60 years. saw them about 3 years ago at the MGM in Oxon Hill Md Duke was 83 at the time and still holding his own. the newer guys are very good.

Levi Stubbs had one of the greatest voices of all time! Absolutely nobody could better interpret a song like him. The Four Tops a very legendary Motown group. I saw them perform many times and they were always incredible.

What a great, uplifting concert by the Four Tops. I'm so glad I watched it.
One of, if not the absolute best shows I have ever attended. The Four Tops made up for any travel, reservation, and general woes of travel. We have talked about this for years and years. Rip 4 Tops, God bless your good health Duke and you will to keep the music alive and well. There is no band like the guys in Dukes band.

Jane Wolfe -just saw them last week in Glenside PA. Stayed at same hotel. Duke came to the bar, had a drink and I talked to him! Duke paid for a round at the bar, and to hear his stories was amazing! Truly amazing!

What a ridiculous statement. Tops were good, but no match for the Temptations and several others to boot. I can't believe so many agree with that comment.

The Temps more soulful, the Tops more 'Pop' oriented. I had the pleasure of seeing them all together at Wembley Arena in the mid eighties where they performed their ' Battle of the Bands' routine...Both Fantastic, and Just guess who won...The Audience !!

At the time of this concert these gentleen were all close to 60 and they were rocking it out. They were truely a great group.
Duke was already 60. Levi& Obie was 59 and Lawrence was 58 at the time.
These guys performed awesome shows. The reality of it is the entertainment industry is living a hard life. These guys worked long hours, lost sleep, on their feet constantly, wardrobe changes, tempted by alcohol and substances, etc.
Looking back, I wish there was
"health secretaries, assistants" that would keep a record of entertainers health checkups and then make appointments for their checkups.
We now know how important "gut health" and "prostate health" Both of these issues will take you out fast if you don't have checkups. Also the " silent killer" is high blood pressure because people sometimes don't know they have it. RIP Kings.
They great band I saw them with the Temptations both same night . And yes take pictures with me all if them . What a great night I can believe it myself and took me in stage till concert is over . All my friends can’t believe it they found me where I sat . The best time of my life I can’t believe it myself thru are all gentleman’s so respectful make me so happy unbelievable each one dance with me outstanding performance 👍♥️♥️♥️🌷
Omg, Levi won my heart back in the early 60's with the original For Tops! I remember driving in a 1962 Suicide 4 door Continintal back in the day., playing the Four Tops on the AM Radio! Well who would ever have thought that Levi and the Four Tops would sing it out loud!

I don't know what month this was recorded but in June & July of 1996 I was going for cancer treatments. On several occasions I saw Levi at the hospital going for treatments. Only got to talk to him once!

Loved them all, and Levi was the "voice," but Obie was always my favorite Top since I first saw him as a little girl on the Ed Sullivan Show in the 1960's. His easy smile and personality was so wonderful. Like I say, I noticed it as a kid. You could tell that he loved the fans and was a nice person too. I also noticed how handsome he was as I got older and even when he got older too, a REAL fox 😍😍 I miss them as the "original" Four Tops, although Duke's keeping things alive with the group into his 80's. WOW. Best EVER. THE FOUR TOPS. I wished I had the opportunity to see them live, but I never did 😪😪😪 But they'll always be in my heart, soul and part of my LIFE. The memories, the memories, the memories. I'll always have THOSE 💖💖💖💖

I have never heard The Four Tops sing a "contemporary"song before...my loss! Listening to their marvellous harmonising..what can I say..other than Pitch perfect, and beautiful and soothing to listen to and watch. Thank you, members of The Four Tops..thank you for my lifetime of listening to your exquisite talent. individually..and, together. Brava!!
I worked for the talent buyer ( Dick Lane ) who booked most of the talent for the Vegas casinos. All except for Duke were smokers. Mr. Stubbs did heavy voice overs for several different cartoons and commercials and he had to travel to and from home in Detroit to Burbank for the sound work often. Mr. Payton had lung cancer while doing this show, died 12 months later. Mr. Stubbs quit very lucrative voice overs and underwent vocal rehab and got his blood pressure under control. A 2002 concert saw a new Levi Stubbs! Powerful vocals and trimmed down! Talent buyers were calling to buy shows again! I saw the show at the Music Conservancy. It was simply a mind blowing event! The fee went back up to $88.000 plus rider at long last but as all groups with a 4 way cut , that paycheck is cut four ways! Mr. Stubbs was offered millions to go on his own but this group was thicker than thieves!
