Hallo!!! I'm a Berliner living in Indiana. I moved to America in 1972. Probably before you all were born...lol I miss the old Berlin. My street were Ma & Pa shops. The big shopping centers were starting to move in at the time. The last time i was in Berlin was when my mother past away in 1988. I remember in the smaller grocery stores, i wasn't allowed to touch any fruit & vegetables. It was very different from the US. I also noticed back then, that the store had very few canned foods. Germans cooked everything fresh. My mother did because she cooked for a living. I miss German food very much. Well, America is not what it used to be either. People starting to struggle with high food prices. Thanks for the tour though a German store.
I don't mind watching you do your supermarket shopping because as a women that used to love grocery shopping and now have to rely on my 19yr old son's dad's and my son obviously to do all the shopping as l was disabled in a car accident in 2001 but have sadly got worse where walking is too difficult now. Maybe I should get my son to film their trips to the supermarket so I can watch then maybe they wouldn't come back with over priced items that I didn't put on the list. Gave me a great idea GiV, thank you hope your enjoying your time with your wonderful mum.
I am an American that lives near Manheim from LA and I love watching your videos especially when you are out here in Germany. This video was super nice. It was almost like taking a late night stroll and a drive with a friend. Enjoy your time with your mommy.❤️
We flew through Frankfurt airport about a month ago and had an overnight layover and so we hung out in the A concourse at gates A22and A24. But we were shocked to see so many mice running around in the gate sitting area. Are you aware of the mice problem and is anything being done about it?
Hey! It's nice to hear that an American is coming to Germany and building a life here. I have a girlfriend in the US and I'm very interested to hear what exactly led to you leaving your country, what the transition was or was like for you and how you are currently doing in terms of learning the language, connecting with the locals and your daily life compared to your life you had in The States. Greetings! :))
Just got back from a three year tour in Germany. We LOVED it! Globus was the best super market in town! Never went at 10:00 at night but I remember so many of these brands and variety I miss it so much. Thanks for posting this for us Americans that loved living in Germany.
Does it make sense that I like the videos most when you do nothing. 😂 true walking around a empty grocery store is much more interesting then some vloggers and their theme park obsession. Have a great trip Mike enjoy the time with your mom.
My Hungarian grandfather had a bar in the basement very much like that one. I really enjoyed this video because you showed your father's bar. It brought back good memories. You never know what moment in one of your videos will reach/touch people. Good job, GIV!
I love the song "Our House" it reminds me of growing up at my house in the 80's. The verse "Our mum, she's so house proud Nothing ever slows her down And a mess is not allowed" describes my now deceased mother perfectly, especially in her younger years.
German supermarkets look excellent; so clean and have everything. I also noticed from the parking lot to when you were driving, that there is no garbage/litter anywhere. I'd love to live somewhere like that where people take real pride in their neighbourhood and shopping mall.
I had a nice neighbor who was from Germany, and her mom would send boxes of food from Germany, and I would get to try some great stuff! In return, I would share America recipes with her to try, she enjoyed that.
🍎GIV, beautiful sunny day! Watched your laundry day video. Love the way you offered to help the lady push the heavy cart into the laundry mat to do her laundry. That was so very kind of you to offer such a nice gesture on TH-cam! You didn't hesitate, wow! Most of all, now that you went shopping for shirts and vests in Germany, you were so caring and considerate to buy your mom a beautiful pink tshirt as well or a box of chocolate or better yet tasty cookies of Germany. Wow! Just imagine how much she can see and realize how kind hearted and generous her son is to show his viewers. After all, it shows your viewers you're not a cheap person, but caring, loving and considerate, not to mention what a gentleman would do. Cheers to you and your family and friends!🌴🇺🇲 🇩🇪
Mike , What a great supermarket I would love to just walk around there and look at all of the interesting things in there. Thank you so much for showing us your home town. Please stop apologizing for showing us (your) world, as a fan we are with you 100%. Please keep up the great work! Please also give your mother our love.
I would love seeing a video when the GiV is out and about in the rain. He can even dance and sing in the rain, Singing In The Rain like the song goes! Yes, it would be interesting to see the GiV out and about in LA on one of those rare days that it rains in the winter months. I bet you will see LA from a different perspective. 🤔..., hmm.
I had extensive shoulder surgery in 2015 when I was 59. Shortly after while I was rehabilitating, with my arm in a sling attached to my waist, I pushed my 83 year old mom in a wheelchair through the entire local zoo. I'm sure that we were a sight to see.😊 Mom at 91 is in hospice now in a local nursing home. Please love your moms. And dads.
mike...your videos are GREAT ...always entertaining and fun ..73 years old in BOSTON MASS USA, And i can travel and hang around with you...if you ever get to boston just know you have friends here...THANKS...BOB
Spending time in the basement as I see the GiV doing is much like it was for me growing up in NYC. Many people in NYC finish out the basement for..., like that 70's show. Today I think they refer to it as man caves. Interesting to see a finish basement with a bar in it, cheers 🍺 🍻 🥃 🍸 🍾 🍹🥂 🤗
I wish to live there, the prices are good and I hope the rents are low 😊 I live in L.A. California and it is so expensive here that sometimes I cry. Take care of your mother, she is a very important person in your life, bitte.
Hi G.I.V. that's a very nice supermarket and it's nice that you had it all to yourself. That Bench made out of a Car was Awesome! I love seeing more and more of Germany. Tell your Mom Hello 😊
Love, love, LOVE your videos, from this 2nd generation German-American. 100% of my forefathers were born in Germany. I've been there so many times, and enjoy the German culture...it's in my blood! Your German videos make me so lonesome for 'the old country'. Please come vist us in Phoenix, AZ. I've even been to Dusseldorf! I've shopped at Globus...been to the Hauptbonhof there, and the Zentrum. God bless...more German vids, please!!
Can relate to your Mom. Reached the time in my life that I need a walker and a wheelchair at times. Pride is my struggle. Wishing your Mom many many good days. 🇺🇸🇩🇪
What a nice supermarket. The prices seem reasonable for the most part, too. I completely understand re: parents' reluctance to use walkers, scooters, wheelchairs, etc. My late mom was somewhat vain and resisted using any sort of assisted device to walk. She had spondylosis, scolioisis, and her back constantly gave her pain. She developed a scissors-like gait, where she'd cross one foot in front the other when she walked. It was terrifying watching her sway and teeter as she'd make her way across a room. I finally had to get blunt with her: "What if you fall and break your hip? Then you'll really be in trouble!" We got her a really nice cherry red walker with a built-in seat; once she started using it, she realized how much easier it was to get around. Plus, she could put stuff on the seat and wheel it to where she was going, instead of having to carry it.
Another Masterpiece GIV ❤❤❤ your videos are wonderful .... I always enjoy watching your videos while I eat my food 😋 🙂 Thank You for all your hard work making these videos ❤❤❤❤
I love the spontaneous videos you're putting out, Mike. I think I actually prefer some of your German content. I noticed one thing about the party goers you taped and that is they were all well behaved, unlike a lot of those you may find in the states or Great Britain, etc. Lovely vlog, thanks.😊😊.
I'm sometimes shocked at how well behaved they are too! Example. One beautiful shot of the steps in front of a beautiful building next to a river and people were allowed to lounge around with open beers and enjoy the sunset. Contrast to America where we use "hostile architecture" to keep people / homeless off the steps of the Library in NY. German culture is doing better than American.
Very nice coverage of the huge grocery store - so clean. Your dad must have been very talented, beautiful bar. German people are very smart!!! My dad was German and there wasn't anything he couldn't tackle! Miss him much! Have fun in Germany Mike. Hello to your sweet mom. Be safe. 😁
Love seeing the German content especially the stores. I lived in Germany for 8 years. Love to see some of the bakeries in Germany I loved pudding brezel growing up there.
God Bless THE GIV & Your mother, I work 18 hours a day here in Indiana but I love coming home and watching you. But ya, it's nice that you look after your mom I look after my mom also, the last time we talked? I was trying to get you to come to Indiana to see James Deans grave and look around. I hope you do that sometime. They have the James Dean Festival here every year & I think if you came that time of year? You would love it. Anyways, Take care my friend -Randy
Thanks I injoy watching them my family is from Russia my grandparents from the 1800 they were Mennonites but I'm here in lancaster ca and I watch your channel ❤
Love your shopping trip in Deutschland. Brings back wonderful memories of my 10 years stationed in Giebelstadt near Wurzburg. I was in my 20’s and had the time of my life there. Wishing I could go back there one day.
21:31 definitely drive around. Said this before, but at this stage in my life I'm locked down in an assisted living facility. Watching your channel is an escape from this place
I love you show GIV, I love late-night shopping too, I wish the stores here stayed open 24/7 like they used to before covid. When my husband was alive we go to Walmart at 2 in the morning and just look at "stuff"........lol Great memories
Great video Mike love your late-night cruseing, video , the sweets you where showing us omg sweets heaven😊, thanks for taking along with you, had a fun time
Awesome man you are sugar free . Good for you. I am a doctor in the US and my patients struggle with diabetes and very difficult for them to give up sugar and carb. Keep it up.
@7:42 "Foam" lol 😂 it might as well be. I used to love those wafer things when I was a child. Haven't tasted them in years. Love seeing around your old hometown!
Mike I love your videos especially the ones from Germany 🇩🇪 I'm living in London. I've been to LA several times I've only been to Germany twice but I love it ❤
I really like when you go back home to Germany and show us what it’s like there, not all of can go, I like seeing prices of things that we just don’t know how much things can cost, thanks GIV!
So interesting! I love learning about life there. I think sometimes people resist using a wheelchair because they want to keep as strong as possible. If a person gets used to using a wheelchair, they may get weaker muscles. I know this from my own experience.
Was lovely to watch this vlog. I like looking at different foods in supermarkets when im in another country. Great to see the towns- so cute. Love from Sydney Australia💝
I'm a Night shopper, and Enjoyed shopping with You..What a HUGE GREAT STORE ‼️WOW 😮 The Prices Are Much Lower than HERE ! When You dropped the Buns into the cart,it sounded like ROCKS !😅 MISS YOU ❤ Have a GREAT Quality Visit with Your mama k 🥰👍🆗♥️Be SAFE 🙏💞💋😌🌷🌻
Thank you for bringing us with you on your mid-night escapade. I thoroughly enjoyed shopping and taking the scenic route home. Enjoy your time at home and stay safe. Much love from Tennessee ❤️
I watch your videos from beginning to end and i appreciate what you do. Even my wife sit with me and watch your videos, always very interesting. My wife says that you are like a good reporter, always documenting what is going on in the city. You are a joy to watch. Thank you
@7:38 these are Sugar Wafers sir. A popular snack in Amerikanerland in the 80s and 90s I like the peanut butter wafers from Little Debbie, They are called Nutty Buddys, Chocolate and Erdnuss butter
Really great video on the German Supermarket GiV…! Your videos get more interesting all the time. So glad that you take the time in this video to show us the groceries that they sell in Germany. And also that you compare the prices with the prices in Los Angeles (SoCal). Thank You so much! Please keep these wonderful videos coming our way…!
Great vlog, Mike. One of my favorite things to do on vacations is to explore different supermarkets. Always nice to see the differences in regions as well as different countries.
Every time I watch your videos I feel better afterwards. I think it's your mindset that inspires me, trying to see beauty in everything. I really love watching your videos because of this Mike. ❤ I try to apply that onto my everyday life.
Wow cool bar in your moms basement i wouldnt mind seeing further footage of the bar. Your dad was a handy man building that bar. GIV . Germany on a whole very clean streets people have respect and put there litter in the bins. I found German people to be methodical and precise. Germany does have its imigrants problem when your goverment let so many in thats where you may get your homeless people issues. Im from the uk have a bigbimigrstion problem in every city and towns across uk these days. But nothing likevthevencanpments in L.A. i was shoked that some parts looked like gettho's. Even Hollywood for all its glitz and glamour is shabby. But GIV is living the dream. Love your content ❤
Love your grocery store its so neat and clean, those recycle bins are great too, Germany is really organized...love it. Your mom will like her walker, can she sit in it when she needs to take a break?
This dude is awesome ❤..I Loved it in Germany when my brother in-law was in the Army stayed in Germany for almost a year loved it there in Haymour great place and the German ppl were so kind and lovely ❤
We are of German heritage. Have always wanted to see and hear about Germany! Now we can through you! Thanks for all the videos you make!!! We enjoy you and your personality!!!
Been watching your videos for years. More entertaining than TV shows. Keep up the great work
Over 50,000 views just for watching you roam a supermarket. It must be your good character , it’s definitely not the supermarket. Thats amazing.

I love the bar in your mom's basement, it looks so cozy, like an old-fashioned pub.
What a nice and huge and clean and well kept supermarket. 10/10
It's Germany what do you expect they are some of the most clean and cultured people on earth
Yes, it's very fancy!!☺
it was late 10min before closing so not many people were there

Eigenlob stinkt, nach scheiße in diesem Fall!
This is an exception of a supermarket, this is the only of it's kind in this city and not every city has one like this
Super cool, very beautiful to see... ❤❤❤❤❤

Always good to see another part of the world and how basic living is to compare.
You missed the Landliebe Milch in the glass bottle....aus Heilbron....so very good milk...I always loved the German supermarkts.....thank you....

Thanks for this video. I don't know a lot about modern Germany. I enjoyed the tour of the supermarket.

SOOOO CLEAN.!!! Looks similar to ALDI back in the states.
Hi G.I.V. that's a very nice supermarket and it's nice that you had it all to yourself. That Bench made out of a Car was Awesome! I love seeing more and more of Germany. Tell your Mom Hello 😊

"Phoenix, AZ" the hottest in the USA.😂
That's so nice. Many greetings from Germany ♥️😊
Can relate to your Mom. Reached the time in my life that I need a walker and a wheelchair at times. Pride is my struggle. Wishing your Mom many many good days. 🇺🇸🇩🇪
😊
I absolutely love your shopping videos ❤
We love and appreciate your Germany videos! We learn so much real stuff!
Subbed up mate i hadn't realised i wasnt already on board all the way from Australia 🦘
you're not alone you got 300 plus thousand people shopping with you buddy.
GIV, thanks for showing us around Germany! 🇩🇪
I have never been out of the states except Canada. It is nice to see what other countries have. Thank you.
WOW ur super market r very clean...enjoy ur evening...🎉🎉🎉
Very nice coverage of the huge grocery store - so clean. Your dad must have been very talented, beautiful bar.
German people are very smart!!! My dad was German and there wasn't anything he couldn't tackle! Miss him much! Have fun in Germany Mike. Hello to your sweet mom.
Be safe. 😁
Thank you for another great video I love that store so nice so clean and organized😊❤
Love seeing the German content especially the stores. I lived in Germany for 8 years. Love to see some of the bakeries in Germany I loved pudding brezel growing up there.
The bakeries and pastries are divine-American cakes are way too sugary and overwhelms the flavor.
God Bless THE GIV & Your mother, I work 18 hours a day here in Indiana but I love coming home and watching you. But ya, it's nice that you look after your mom I look after my mom also, the last time we talked? I was trying to get you to come to Indiana to see James Deans grave and look around. Thanks I injoy watching them my family is from Russia my grandparents from the 1800 they were Mennonites but I'm here in lancaster ca and I watch your channel ❤
Germany is chill and nice looking through the GIV's videos. much respect
Thank You for showing us your beautiful stomping grounds
Glad to have german supermarkets in uk. Christmas cakes are the best and beer selection.
Love your shopping trip in Deutschland. Brings back wonderful memories of my 10 years stationed in Giebelstadt near Wurzburg. I was in my 20’s and had the time of my life there. Wishing I could go back there one day.

Enjoyed roaming the streets of Germany with you! 👋 😊
Great video Mike love your late-night cruseing, video , the sweets you where showing us omg sweets heaven😊, thanks for taking along with you, had a fun time
Only the G.I.V. could make shopping in an apocalyptic market, entertaining. 😉Thanks for GiV'ng !
Awesome man you are sugar free . Good for you. I am a doctor in the US and my patients struggle with diabetes and very difficult for them to give up sugar and carb. Keep it up.
With all of the negative news all over the world it's good to be here with you GIV.

Mike I love your videos especially the ones from Germany 🇩🇪 I'm living in London. I've been to LA several times I've only been to Germany twice but I love it ❤
It appears that German supermarkets are nicer than American ones, prices and selection are better too!
This is an exception, not every supermarket is like this one.
It's grossly overprized in Germany, this Globus.
Maybe you should move to Germany
I really like when you go back home to Germany and show us what it’s like there, not all of can go, I like seeing prices of things that we just don’t know how much things can cost, thanks GIV!
So interesting! I love learning about life there.
I think sometimes people resist using a wheelchair because they want to keep as strong as possible. If a person gets used to using a wheelchair, they may get weaker muscles. I know this from my own experience.
shopping with no one in a supermarket is always fun.... you can take your sweet time and browse thru items slowly
My Dad passed 7 years ago and same. I was from NY and now we never go back. Losing him as losing my past, if that makes any sense.
Grew up in North Dakota on mostly German Russian food. I live in Colorado and wish I could find a store like THAT here!! Thanks for sharing this!
Was lovely to watch this vlog. I like looking at different foods in supermarkets when im in another country. Great to see the towns- so cute. Love from Sydney Australia💝

Keep the videos coming, brother!! Give your Mom a hug for us and enjoy every second you have with her!! Life is too short, brother!!!!!!
Keep it up GIV!
