    a6400 has a Panorama option on the scroll wheel, a6600 currently doesn't have this functionality at all, even in the settings menu. On the selector wheel, panorama is replaced by S&Q on the 6600

    I own the a6400 awsome camera . I dislike the charging port as micro usb. Its a little disappointing to see a6600 also uses micro usb. Usb type C would of been a much better choice. Iam not sure why any body uses micro usb anymore its time to move on from that lol.

      Oh no, I was leaning towards the A6400 for my budget and thought it would be ok for recording long videos. I plan to make about 30-45 min clips at home in around 2-3 hours sessions at a stretch with the camera.
      Is there a workaround for the A6400 or is it a deal breaker problem you had and needed to upgrade to the A6600?

      However, many Gimbal Operators like turn the camera sensor stabilization OFF when the camera is used on a gimbal cause they believe the gimbal will perform better when IBIS is OFF. I've been told it's mentioned in Ronin S guide manual.

  • @iagle
    @iagle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I own the Sony a6500 and there are some bad design flaws such as the scene dial on top, over short time the info icons fade off possibly due to greasy fingers one fix would be to engrave the icons on instead of print also I don't know why lens makers don't make a hot shoe on the lens itself this allows for an easier setup for a mic and or flash option another issue I have with my a6500 is the display panel, being 48 I need reading glasses to make out anything and Sony would cover a larger customer base if the panels were as large as the average smart phone which is where they will eventually end up anyway. For a camera that requires split second decisions the user interface such as dull display screen with tiny icons end up being more of an impediment than an advantage.

    Man honestly I feel like if the only reason your getting the 6600 over the 64 is for stabilization then I think you should just get the 6400 with a gimbal and save 2-300$. What I would like to know. Is the difference between 8bit 6400 and the 10 but 6600. Or does the 6600 even come with 10bit?

    • @OmaGhomrawi
      @OmaGhomrawi  ปีที่แล้ว

    • @Cthames123
      @Cthames123 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Even with the IBIS you still need a gimbal when walking around handheld with the 6600 for video. There aren't too many Sony cameras that can offer the same stabilization as a good gimbal even in 2024.
      Maybe the A7V, ($3800 full frame camera) or the ZVE1, ($1800) full frame camera comes close, but you shouldn't expect miracles from the A6600. Look at the rest video footage walking around.

  • @FunPaa

    Great Content, I am looking to scale up to DSLR 4k, mainly 1. kids outdoor action game video and 2. indoor game vlogging, what would you suggest a7iii (no filp and complex for other family members to operate) / a6600 (???), zv1 (easy, not not sure for low light noise, and no interchangeable lens) ?
    Do suggest auto lens also :)

    • @OmaGhomrawi
      @OmaGhomrawi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have both the a7 3 and 6600. Both of them have great performance. The flip screen and size are major differences. The only thing that might make a difference to you is the shallow depth of field. Full frame cameras produce more shallow depth of field than smaller sensors.
      If I do vlogging will definitely choose the 6600
      However, zv1 price is good but as you mentioned we're not sure about the performance in low light.

    • @OmaGhomrawi

      Well 10-18mm is a good choice for vlogging and travel. 35mm f1.8 OSS or 50m f1.8 OSS perfect for portrait and close up shots.

    A6600 Body only is on sale right now here in the middle east for $1080 USD. But I'm thinking if I should buy it now or save my money until this COVID 19 Virus ends. Tough decision. The only concern I have with the A6600 is it doesn't come with an Official Sony AC power adapter like the A6400 that can use the Sony AC-PW20 Adapter to continuously power the camera without any interruption. I'm aware that you can power your camera via the USB port but it will still drain the battery little by little as a lot of people claim. I also do not want to use unofficially dummy batteries since the voltage output is inconsistent and the circuitries are poorly made. So for me who does the long-form of video recording, I am torn between buying the A6400 or the A6600 right now. Really makes my head shake.

      @@OmaGhomrawi Hi Oma! Id liked to, but I actually want to use this camera on a fixed position on my table for my gaming channel. I usually film for 3-6 hours of gaming and I want to use this camera as a face-cam for my premiere pro. I don't stream on twitch so I need to edit those videos before I upload them to youtube. So power consistency is important to me without even switching batteries. I will only shoot at 1080p at 60fps so overheating will not probably happen. I also heard that the a6100, a6400 and a6600 does not split the file into 4gb chunks which is very helpful for me when I'm editing a video. I found dummy batteries in amazon but Im afraid to use them since they are not official sony AC power adapter. Other brand batteries are fine with me specially wasabi and ravpower but for dummy batteries that has an adapter included makes me worry.
      This item could be helpful but its only available for NP-FW50 type like the a6400, however sony does not produce official dummy batteries for FZ100 like the a6600

      I'm going to agree these are big separators.
      The battery being double the capacity is huge, as one does not have to carry extra batteries and can shoot all day without needing to recharge.
      The better grip makes a lot of difference for those walking around with the camera in hand for a few hours.
      The IBIS will help with those low shutter speed shots, and I wouldn't expect a whole lot from walking around handheld video of but with you good technique and slow movements you can get usable hand held footage, whereas you must have a gimbal with the a6400.

    Great overview, do you find a big difference in stabilization with an OSS lens on both? I use an A6400 with OSS lens and gimbal but still find minor stabilization issues near the edges of the frame. I wonder if the upgrade with IBIS is worth it. Thanks!

    • @OmaGhomrawi
      @OmaGhomrawi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A good friend of mine like to turn OFF Image stabilization from the cameras when it's been used on Gimbal. He finds better results with IBIS turned off. I don't find that true with the 6400.
      What Gimbal are you using ?
      Check out this video, th-cam.com/video/Lv5tTQfzDW8/w-d-xo.html
      I reviewed a cheap gimbal with the 6400. I had to make warp stabilization in adobe premier for better results.

      Oma Ghomrawi thanks for the reply Oma, I’ve tried it with prime lens and the results aren’t great. I use a Ronin SC but I might try the warp stabilizer and see how it handles it. Was trying to see if it’s worth the extra 600-700 for a A6600 with IBIS as that’s really the only difference for me personally. Thanks!

    Thanks to this video and another great comparisson video it's very obvious for me. The A6400 is more a photographer camera while the A6600 is really created for needs of videographers, vloggers and cinematic content creators.

      Also sigma 16mm is pretty nice.
      I personally would go for A6600 with Sony 10-18 and Sony 35mm

    One question I can't find the answer to, what is the White balance temperature range on the new a6600? I use my cameras mainly for diving and previous sonys are let down by the temperature limited to 9900 kelvin, so water shifts to magenta past 20 metres.

    I will use only for photos..specially Astrophotos and some Normal Photography ( specially travel photography and landscape)..video is not at all a requirement for me ..as I have go pro for video..then which one should I buy? A6400 with 18-135 mm or A6600 with 16-50 mm ? Oma Ghomrawi ..please help.

    • @OmaGhomrawi
      @OmaGhomrawi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, regarding astro photography you need a wide angle lens. Sony 10-15mm f4 is the best lens for that.
      The same lens is also useful for travel and landscape.
      The wider the lens is, the more shutter speed you can use in astro photography.
      A6400 and a6600 share the same sensor.
      So better to get a6400 + 10-18mm f4
