Botswana September 2019 Central Kalahari GR to Khutse

A 2 week trip from Johannesburg to Botswana - Khama Rhino Sanctuary, Kubu Island, Makgadigadi Pans, Gweta Lodge, CKGR across to Khutse.

Once again we find ourselves just so drawn to these awesome "sanctuaries" . We did an awesome trip throughout Namibia in 2018 (down childhood memory lane) but had to pass up on the Botswana side. Before the "plandemic" struck we had Khaudum GR below the Caprivi on the cards, routing through Nyae Nyae GR and entering Botswana at Nxai Nxai, and on to Drotzky's Caves, making our way to
Moremi GR. Very much a previous "Voetspore route. Well, it still remains on the cards! Thanks Jackie (and hubby) for excellent hearts-cry imagery! Your upload máde our breakfast table this morning!

We are driving (in early Sept 2022) from Kasane, Nata, Kubbu, Gweta, Bains, Maun, Moremi, Savuti, Kasane so curious as to Road from Kubu to Gweta. What did you have as a Map or Guide ? Wondered whether there might be some available at Sua Entrance Gate or in Nata ?
Also where did you Pay the Entrance Fee and Camp Fees …. ? Thnx.

From Nata about 10km west the road down to Kubu is easy to find. From Kubu you go back to the campsite about 25km north west and through the vet fence (the guy at that camp is very helpful) and follow the tracks to Gweta. Closer to Gweta there are multiple tracks, and our Garmin Nuvi showed they all went to Gweta. We used T4A paper and Garmin Nuvi. Also, ask the guy at the campsite close to the vet fence on the road conditions for water. When it is wet there is no thoroughfare.
At Kubu find your own campsite and they will come around with their book for the camp fees. Enjoy your trip! We might also be back in Bots then....

No Con, there are campsites that you can book. Best to always have a paid booking in hand. Would be awesome if people could bush camp!
