Lesotho part 3 Sehlabathebe National Park
Getting to Sehlabathebe National Park was not as easy as we thought but it was one of the most beautiful experiences we had in Lesotho. Rural roads were scenic and interesting and the people warm and friendly.

Lesotho Dec 23, Part 2 - Sani to Bush camp
มุมมอง 2.6K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
After driving up the Sani Pass and spending some time at the top we continued into Lesotho. Near Mokhotlong we stopped to watch a game of football and cheered the players. Shortly thereafter we turned south onto a gravel road which we hoped would get us to the Sehlabathebe National Park, but the going was slow. We loved the journey and just wild camped next to the road that night, to continue t...

Lesotho Dec 23 Part 1 Sani Pass
มุมมอง 4.7K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
We decided to break away for a week to LESOTHO, the mountain Kingdom and loved every minute. We took the back roads from Jhb down to Geluksburg from Harrismith, then the gravel road from Winterton to Himeville and slept at Sani Backpackers before climbing a very wet Sani Pass!
6yr old girl free climbs the chain ladders at Witsieshoek.

Angelique was only 6yrs old when she free climbed the chain ladders at the Sentinel up to the top of the Tugela falls, to see the waterfall. She completed the round hike, up and down the ladders and took a dip in the pool above the waterfall with no assistance.

Thank you
Ek hou van julle manier van jul onder in ding. Wys die omgewing en nie heel tyd jul gesigte soos 98% van die ander programme nie. Dankie hou dit so.
Nice to find local content. I saw that first rock in two weeks ago when I was headed for a Moshoeshoe walk in Lesotho. Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed this video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Soon as I saw the thumbnail and title, I assumed it was in Botswana! This seems to be a common thing in safari campsites there!
Doesn't everyone have aT least one kudu in their bathroom at least once? Right?
Fantastic! I am looking to do this same road from Matabeng (bobs campsite) to Semonkeng in Sept. Road looks slow. Would you be able to share how long it took to reach the brand new tar road?
Yes it was slow, but incredibly beautiful. About 5 hours.

You’ve got me curious😊 Why did the guy reverse??
Great to see that Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge is still a going concern, was looking up at it from top of the Crack at Royal Natal wondering about it. Love the chain-ladders hike!!
Wow Lesotho is beautiful I want to get myself there one day🔥🔥❤️I love your content
Thank you so much!!

Great Video.... Thanks for the Details 😃 .. Had to look away now and then..lol... Kids and Grans made the ladders look so easy....something I will psychologically never manage... 😅😅😅 Well done.....
Glad you enjoyed it
Lovedit folks... Keep it rolling.... Offgrid Blessings!
Always!
Many many years ago when we did the Otter Trail, we got a photo of a waterfall going up. The pathway was quite close to the edge of the cliff so it was just as well the wind was blowing inland. It was a hectic wind.
Interesting, I drive thru Lesotho on 1980, in a Citroen. At that time we saw a lot of erosion of the land and the road blocks were guys in camo with ak47’s. Cheers Warren
Still a fair bit of soil erosion, but no camo guys!
@@jackiecilliers my passenger found the ‘road block /border guys’ a little disconcerting . We were fish out of water for sure . We were driving from CT to PE , wasn’t much alternative in our route and with the gas restrictions at that time a long detour was not practical . Fortunately the Citroen had good mileage! Sad about erosion Cheers Warren
Determined water.

Which pass is this?
I too have just watched all 5 at once, whilst mostly just listening to SA - PAK cricket on the TV … at 5am from the Bahamas. My wife and I were fortunate to have 5 nights in Western Kgalagadi in July this year, would love to do this Eastern section so really good research, thank you. Very well narrated and edited, I know the effort involved. The soul needs to be reset and readjusted more often in these difficult times, and there are few better ways than a week in real life in the KTFP. My 2024 planning progressing well. Thanks J & G.
Enjoyed your video. We are having a class reunion in January 2024 and one of our mates suggested this walk. We will be coming from Melbourne Australia. We had done the Camino de Santiago before Covid and I thought this will be doable. We are all 66-67 years old and it’s our 50 year reunion. Looking at that ladder I’m not so sure 😅😂. How did the grand parents do it or is there another route? Really enjoyed this video. Thank you.
Apfelstudel in the desert? How?
Thanks for this video ! We are doing this hike in two weeks time😊
Great video! We're leaving for Mabuasehube in two weeks time. Can't wait. Oh, and I agree, use your whole memory stick if you have to.
Are you back? Are you alive?
@@fatsonot181 😂 yes, we're back and alive. Had to move from our tents to our vehicles both nights. Had a visitor. Male lion. Botswana didn't disappoint.
@@louisevanderlinde8590 man, just thinking about it I get anxiety. I don't think I can do even a open Jeep safari.
@@fatsonot181 😁
Maybe it takes you the next 😬
Think the lion should have left dinner in the shower. You can manage without a shower but not a s...!😊
Haha wat is die kans
Lovely video. Do you know if there is transport available from the lodge to the Sentinel carpark?
😂😂 Jackie, I LOVE your humorous sarcasm in this!!! Really made me laugh!! 🤣🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
which pass is this?
So that giant deer was taking a piss or poo in the bathroom and lion killed it.
I just watched all 5 parts of your Mabuasehube videos and could not stop watching. Great videos! They are making me more and more exited and curious to be there. Luckily I only have to wait till Sept
Awesome! Thank you!
The chewing in the end during the leopard view gave this sighting a strange unpleasant turn , who wants to eat during a view like this. Poor man .I rode there on the 10th= 14th in a Jimny. The Northern European Neighbours just missed the leopard visiting the shower ..for water.
Hadn't noticed it....will keep in mind for future videoing.
Nice to have such a detailed recent video of this hike. Thank you. Children had me shaking though :D
Glad you enjoyed it!
Camping anyone? Its free of charges and a full corse meal
Is julle veilag in dai hoektown, is dit nie iemand se slaap plek?
Hi guys, awesome video .Just a quick question, how save would it be to leave a vehicle overnight at the Sentinel peak car park?
Thank you. Leaving your car at the car park is safe. We've left ours there for 3 days plus, no problem. Locked up with nothing visible.
Amazing sigthings, thanks for sharing
Hi Jackie. I've been enjoying your videos of Kaokoland. We made a similar trip a couple of months ago. My video is at th-cam.com/video/JRtzjJ0696U/w-d-xo.html
Hi Roddy, thank you! I've just had a look at your trip, brought back some good memories. We've met Caesar several years ago and stayed at Khowarib a couple of times as well. The stone men are a delight to come across. Looks like we covered some very similar ground although on this trip we didn't do van Zyl's Pass, but the Joubert's pass from Opuwo. Not much difference! Crossing over into the Hartmanns Valley was a real treat for us too. Seems like it's still very very dry up there!
It's A Monkey
baiting lions is dangerous in the longterm. lions will start associating campsites with food and water therefore endangering people. very foolish thing to do for likes and photo shots
Please advise where we were 'baiting lions?' This is an official campsite and the only items you might consider 'bait' are the Tsamma melons?
Don't criticize unless you know the whole story. Baiting? Nope
unfortunatly you do - why putting a bowl of water for birds?? it is the same like some tourist leaving the water taps opened for wildlife... they will get used to it and come more offten
Lions sighting out of this world nice episode thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
Why do you feed the animals?
We don't feed the animals, please be specific? I think you are seeing the Tsamma melons..
Dumelang...dat stuck landcruiser belongs to Government, for dept of wildlife and national Parks..thanx for the video.
Jackie... George.... Enjoyed part 4 over the lunch table. What a night it must have been. We remember your vid from a year ago or so with the lions taking your chairs down. We'll love to go!
Thank you Dirk, it's well worth the trouble. You're welcome to pick our brains for info if you decide to go.
