Nice job. Great work on the handle. I think that in this case a mirror finish would look better especially as the cutting bevel is almost a mirror and makes the rest of the chisel look shabby and unfinished.
Thank you, Jakub! Yes it can but it doesn't affect very much in that area, on the tip it may be a real problem. I have use it for a year since then and yet no need for resharpening ;)
I like how you called the collar the necklace, probably a mistranslation, but I like to think you wanted the chisel to be the fanciest and prettiest chisel it could be.
@@TechnicsFR Necklace is jewelry, so anything worn around the neck for decoration. And your translation was no problem, we all understood what you meant :)
I really like the finish you gave to the chisel itself, although personally I'm not sure about the handle, the rear part doesn't look organic and I think it would've been more comfortable to grip if the handle was smaller Thank you my dude, good job
Great job and excellent result with small number of tool used. Any kind of metal lathe restoration would be great and it would prove a very useful tool in you shop. No sure how expensive or available there are in your country. Keep up the good work
A metal lathe would be really useful, but I'm not ready right now for this acquisition. It is in my plan till the end of this year. Thank you for your feedback :)
It doesn't look like you flattened the back or honed the bevel edge. Did you do this off-camera? Did you use water stones, diamond stones, or ceramics, or some other method?
Hi, David! I flattened the back of the blade right after the sharpenning, I didn't honed the bevel edge due the fact that I chose not to make it mirror polished!😉
Typischer Amateur. Stahl heiß gemacht und die härte zerstört und anschließend nich mal mehr gehärtet. Wird nicht lange dauern und das Teil verbiegt wieder.

Looking at that handle I don't know if I would be more concerned about the splinters or the spiders.

😁🥰😁
Trying to save that handle will just get you a handful of splinters. Just carve up a new one on the lathe
Exactly😅
Clever ideas on how you made the brass ferrules and handle. The completed project turned out nice. New subscriber.

Hi, David! I flattened the back of the blade right after the sharpenning, I didn't honed the bevel edge due the fact that I chose not to make it mirror polished!😉
How did your grandpa damage a chisel like that
What did he use it for?????
I only saw him using this chisel once, at a door, but I don't remember if it was bent at that moment..
"I'll fix the bent part"
I've seen commercials on TV during the news that advertise a drug for that.
So tell them to send me a check :))
Looks like you got the polarity of the electrolysis wrong. The rebar is clean at the end…
Nope, negative on the object, pozitive on the rebar! Maybe because there wasn't so much rust😉
Polish finish would’ve been better
Thank you for your feedback, Chris! :)
