When u cut that avocado open I yelled “that man knows his STUFF” 😂….I’m in Los Angeles and have a huge tree…just learned I picked mine too early…instead of getting ripe they turned rubbery and wrinkly 😂…guess I’ll check again in a few months using what u just taught me…thank you 💛
My avocados on one tree are getting big, but many immature ones are dropping. Do you know why? My other tree split in half because it had so many avocados on it! I heard a thunder noise, ran outside and was in shock to find that I only had half of a tree left. ☹️ I lost a lot of fruit. Oh and the squirrels! We fight everyday! I hose them out of the tree. I sprayed chili pepper water and maybe that will work to keep them at bay. Thank you for your knowledge.
The tree will drop the fruit it can't hold. It happens when the tree makes too many avocados. I feel your pain about the squirrels. I battle against them too. They are a constant pain.
Does the tree begin to flower again even with fruit hanging from last year? I'm slowly picking them as they get ready, but the tree is also set to flower again...will that affect next year's crop if I still have fruit on the tree when it's blooming?
My Lamb Hass fruit has been darkening and have been falling off tree. I picked two off the ground that are nearly black. They have been hanging about a year. About how long does it take for the avocado to ripen after coming off the tree?
I think every avocados variety have different time to pick up the fruit. We dont need to worry if the avocado tree not so large and tall. Then just wait until the fruit fall by itself, for sure it is mature. My experience with Miki avocado (a local Indonesian avocado variety) I have to wait until it drop by itself to have excellent taste. It need 7 month start from flowering until the fruits mature. The skin not shiny anymore and the green skin change to yellow. When the fruit fall by itself the flesh still hard, only need 2-3 days and it is ready to eat. Even when it over next day it is still taste good. My tree quite tall so I let the fruit at the bottom branches fall by itself. For the fruit at the top branches I have to pick up before it fall, otherwise it will smash when it touch the ground. It is really gambling because I cannot see very clear the fruits above. Miki avocados if pick up the fruit too early it need more than 8 -10 days to make it ready to eat and 50% disposable when wrong treatment.
Miki avocado good for a warm place and land lower than 200 meter above sea level. Miki flowering 2 times a year, January and July. For the January flower the fruit hang up till July, meanwhile it already flowering again when the fruit get mature. The fruit size 500 - 650 gram each (half kilo average). It has excelent taste when it pick up mature. In my opinion Miki avocado taste far better than Hass Avocado. With Miki you can eat it like other table fruit, you can peal the skin like banana. It has dark yellow green flesh, sweet and buttery, rich taste of avocado. Indonesian favorite is dark yellow and buttery avocados.
Thanks for all your good advice and tips. If you could keep the camera steadier it would help to see these videos much easier.
🌳 Happy Picking 🥑 Enjoy your harvest

Obrigado meu irmão! Preciosa informação como sempre muita gente não sabe que se deve deixar um pouco do stem para proteger a fruta. Um grande abraço.

How long after grafting do you get fruit?
Have you done a survey of your backyard trees? Would love to see your collection, much like you did with Julie Frink.
I’ve done a few garden tours of my place. Check them out on my channel
I have two young Sharwil trees and I am very excited to get some Sharwil fruits in the future.

Yes it can flower even with last year’s fruit hanging. If the tree is healthy, it shouldn’t affect next years crop.
Thanks for asking that question. I'm in the same situation too.
What would you say has great taste and texture, Sharwill or Nabal?
Both
What is I pick them up too much late ? Will the tree make flowers even though it still have off season avos?.
Yes it should still make flowers even if you pick avocados too late
Good from Qateef Saudi

Should take a few days, usually between 5 and 10 days
I have some of my avocados turning completely brown on my tree - others look great. Why would some turn completely brown?
Could be many factors like tree age, current number of fruit on the tree, weather, watering, etc
Yummy
what is the 45* rule?
Bend the fruit 45 degrees. It should snap off the tree
Our tree is so so tall noway I can do that to alll the avcodos
