    While SUVs and Crossovers continue to dominate the way for all types of perspective buyers, there are still those who feel the 4-Door Sedan is the best way to get around. This is especially true if you like a touch of class with your daily commute as well. Since its introduction in the early 1990's, the #LexusES, or Executive Sedan, has provided consumers with the company's idea of those seeking something a bit extra than your normal Toyota product. The #2022LexusES however takes things to a whole new level. Combining a sleek, modern design with multitude of powertrains and cloaked in the latest #Lexus technology and comfort. Even so, the decline of the sedan market is still progressing and with that, can this newly reworked #ES300h still hold a candle to those wanting the "Pursuit of Perfection"? Watch our review to find out!

    I traded my 2002 ES300 last year for a new ES300h 2021 model. Firstly. The 2002 was AMAZING. Never a problem. Always soooo quiet that even until the day I traded/sold it, I would often turn off the radio just to listen to the pure silence. To tell you even more, the guy who serviced it for the 12 years that I owned it (and was a mechanic at Lexus for a period of time) bought it from me the minute he found out I was upgrading. I grew up in a family of Mercedes lovers/owners. I am a Mercedes lover too. But I would NEVER buy one. Lexus rules. They are without a doubt the only luxury car to buy.

      I’m considering pulling the trigger on a 2023 ES 300h. What are your thoughts about these cars being built in Kentucky? As opposed to Japan? It is my understanding that the engine, transmission, and other parts are from Japan though.

      @@GrandPrixGTP02 Love it so far. Waited for the touchscreen in the 2022’s. I can tell a difference from the 2021 Camry XLE hybrid I traded. Winter time here in Pennsylvania, so I’m excited to see the mpg get even better when the weather warms up.
      I picked it up Nov 15, 2021 and it now has around 1300 miles. Not driven too much, but I wish they would come out with a ES Prime model.
      I’m waiting to check out the new NX450h+ to see what that’s like. A plug-in hybrid would probably be the next step for me.

    It doesn’t have a 60/40 split rear seat fold-down because Lexus has put a cross brace behind the rear seats for added rigidity. That helps the refinement, but it hurts on practically.

    Cheers for a fantastic review. I was wondering what colour is the bamboo inset on the steering wheel? Also would there be a significant difference in terms of refinement between the es hybrid and the camry hybrid? I currently own a 2019 camry hybrid and toying with the idea of an 2022 es hybrid. What would you recommend? Cheers

    • @GrandPrixGTP02
      @GrandPrixGTP02  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know it really all just depends on what you're looking for. The Camry is a little bit smaller than the ES (about 3-4 inches). But if you're looking to stick to Toyota and you want to get get a hybrid version of the Lexus but at a much cheaper price, try to find yourself a 2022 Avalon hybrid.
      Personally I would say go for the Lexus because it's a lot more refined and a little bit of a bigger car but you will pay more for it depending on what options you want.

    I’m still in the market for an ES. It was between this and the Avalon touring, but considering the Avalon has been axed and very comparable in price, the ES is my next car. Even with a substantial dp they aren’t cheap! I’m probably looking at a ‘19 or ‘20.

    • @GrandPrixGTP02
      @GrandPrixGTP02  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @SanDiegoHun 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GrandPrixGTP02 I agree with you on that they have been using these mouse pads for a long time but what my point was is that other manufacturers like Mercedes’, Audi and the likes have actually been only using them for a couple of years and in My opinion, they’re pretty user friendly, once you got used to them. But then again it’s only my opinion and I respect any other views like yours! :)

    @ 3:15 you mention that "I don't believe a 4 Cylinder All Wheel Drive platform belongs in such a premium feeling vehicle". Can you kindly clarify what is the reason for the "All Wheel Drive" statement here? I am more interested to have a All Wheel Drive in my car. Are you saying that All wheel drive is not necessary for such premium cars? Can you explain if its good to go for a All Wheel Drive in the ES 300h model?

    • @GrandPrixGTP02
      @GrandPrixGTP02  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The statement you are referring to was aimed more at the ES250 AWD (2.5L 4-Cyl). While a smaller engine and All-Wheel Drive is not a bad proposition for people who need such systems, I just feel that premium vehicles don't always require it as I'm more used to big cars like this with smooth V6 engines.
      If you are going to go for the Lexus ES Hybrid, the choice of Front-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive is completely at your discretion. I would say if you absolutely need it, by all means, go for it. However if you live in an area that doesn't really require AWD to be on your vehicle, then I'd say the Front-Wheel Drive model would be more than enough.
