Having a test drive segment for each build with your mom's is legitimately the best idea I've ever heard of for a TH-cam channel. This is the content we need. I love fabrats not just for the cool builds but you all seem so genuinely nice.

Jace's truck turned out great, can't wait to see how well it crawls. On dirt track engines we tossed the thermostat and used a brass plate to slow the water down (which comes in a kit of 3 different sizes 5/8", 3/4" and 1"). I always used the 5/8" one which worked well. The most surprising thing for me about this video was to find out that I'm the same age as your Mom's. It's cool for them wanting to drive the old Packard and doing a good job and even trying to get the old thing to do a burnout where Paul always does one. It probably would have if it had a clutch from this century. I'm sure it's been quite a few years since either of them has driven a 3 on the tree. Cool Mom's for sure. Thanks for including them.

Love that Champ! Just FYI for the folks who are going to say that the bed doesn't look right. That's how they left the factory. Studebaker was running low on money, so they bought pickup beds from Dodge and stuck them on instead of building new ones to fit the Lark sedan based cab. They also made them with step-side beds from the earlier trucks.

My father drove a Studebaker pickup for years. V8 3 speed column shift with overdrive. Great bare bones pickup that got 21 mpg, and enough power to pull his horse trailer all over the place. Came from the factory with no heater or back bumper, great rig!! A machinist said the V8 was actually a Cadillac engine but I am not sure!!

That year, dakota was probably the coolest small truck that dodge put out. My uncle owned one and i had 3 other buddies that owned one at one time or another with the 318 magnums in them. BTW, i love the old ladies and happy b-day.
Dakotas were great trucks. I had three, one of each of the generation of body styles.
