    Nice job. I have a suzuki 200 I bought with a lot of sun damage. I tried it the fast way with just some outboard spray paint and it needs to be redone right like this. Big difference in the two results.

    That would be a great budget option to freshen up a old boat rig.

    I was thinking that Eastwood paint stripping tool might be the ticket for the decal area. It had good reviews on Gurgle. They are burgundy? not maroon? all of the cool kids at the supply house always said maroon..

    Man I must have really got a deal then, I paid a $100 and he painted the whole motor. That was getting off the old decals, sanding, primer, and painting. I bought new decals and he put them on for me. 👍

    • @ThePaintPaperHustle

      You got a good deal. Some people value their time less than others. For example we get $1,000 to paint one car bumper here. Very very good deal

      I bill flat rate not hourly. Body work pays $54 - $65 an hour. These aren’t hourly job just a side hustle.

    You really ought to almost double your price on those Courtney, it’s worth every penny, especially with the cost of everything going up and I’d bout lay money on it that you could double your price to $400 and still sell every job that walks in.
    I know you just do a few of these here and there for hot rod cash, but don’t sell yourself short at all brother!! You still have to make sure it’s worth your time after labor cost, paint & supplies, etc. Make sure your making money on it or it ain’t worth doing! You know the drill man!!
    Nice job tho regardless!!

    • @ThePaintPaperHustle
      @ThePaintPaperHustle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man I may go up to $300. I looked at it like something made is better than nothing especially when these pay for the race car

      @@ThePaintPaperHustle I completely agree with your logic Courtney but there’s also that fine line between giving someone a great deal and screwing yourself in the process, you know where I’m coming from here. My business logic has always been that something is better than nothing but, if you don’t keep it within a reasonable margin for both you and the customer, then your better off just finding something else to do with your time cause you’ll find it’s just not worth the time it takes to do some of the small items. Our paint and supplies keep going up, our power bills are going up, our gas/diesel to get to work is going up, heating season is here again and we have to have a warm booth to spray in, etc, and while all that is going up and your holding prices steady, you can only do that so long before it eats away at your profit so much that it’s not worth doing it at the old price anymore. Just consider going to $300 and see how long you can hold it there. I can promise you that your not gonna lose any customers over it cause even at $300, they know they are getting a good deal and they can’t get it done elsewhere for that. Your worth it brother, your work is worth it, and the folks that use you will completely understand and be willing to pay a bit more.
      I wonder if it would work if you set aside one week a month or even 3 days a month that all you do is small stuff and you put the word out that and try and get as many wheels and covers, etc in for that week so you guys can just cram in as many motor covers and wheels that 3 days as you can and do it once a month so that you guys can be as efficient as possible that one time a month which would help drive your labor costs down a bit and will increase your profit numbers. Just a thought
      Take care man and be safe out there!!

      @ThePaintPaperHustle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All your points are spot on and I agree with you 100%. I absolutely understand what you’re saying. I think I’ll try the $300. I already don’t do a ton at $200 so I’d hate to see it slow down even more.

      I pay for my supplies of course. It’s all included in the flat rate price. Some jobs I make better on than others depending on condition. Either way it’s super easy work to fill in between other stuff
