In this video, you will see our road from the mountain Ausangate in Peru to lago Titicaca in Bolivia. If you like the video listen also The previous episode ..... our start from Cusco through the wounderful Ausangate circuit and rainbow mountain.

    I thought I had run out of interesting bikepacking content, especially since Iohan passed away (2 years now), and since Simon Lambert (Forestry Forest) switched to Van Life videos (can't fault him- we all need to make a living). I had watched the Iohan video of you and him doing that huge crossing in Chile / Argentina and thankfully just discovered your own set of excellent videos. I will watch each and every one of them, probably a few times! Headed just south of this area you took these videos in November, 2023. But my wife and I climbed a 20k foot peak exactly in this area (Chumpe) maybe 10 years ago. The Shining Path movement was basically in this area as well. Anyway, love your style, your music, and hope someday you'll ride and make more videos again. Thx. Tony, Carbondale, Colorado, US of A

Pierre V.

    Marie is tough! Climbing over those peaks is very challenging. I take my dirt bike up to the mountains (about 7500 ft) and it doesn't run well even there. I can't image 16,000+ feet. Many thanks for sharing and posting.

      hola carlos, usé el dron spark dji pero ya no se vende, ahora el dron mini-mavic dji lo reemplaza y creo que es un buen dron en una bicicleta.

    Hi Sylvain - have really been enjoying your videos - great scenery and routes! I am curious - how long have you been traveling by bike in South America? Were you riding in or around Esquel / Trevelin Argentina in 2016 - in March? These towns are near the Chile border - near Futa. I ask because my wife and I were traveling there at that time (by car)and I was recently looking at some of my photos from that trip and could swear I have a picture of you and Marie-Josee riding there... I know it's a random question but let me know. Keep making these great videos.

      Hi Lance, I’m glad you like it.......Sorry, I had never been around Esquel, the Southwest I’ve been is Santiago and it was in February 2019. That will have made a nice story!

    Amazing videos!!! What do you use as a GPS? Google mapps, Garmin or what? Do you book the hostels previosly or you look for one when you arrive at some city? I'm trying to plan my bike trip and want some experience from you. Thanks.

    • @sylvainst-denis6992
      @sylvainst-denis6992  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Margareth, I’m glad you like it. i use gaiia application to navigate, with a map that can show me also the hiking trail. I can navigate without internet and it works everywhere. But you should practice at home before to leave for your trip. When I arrive in a country, as I go, I explore the different quality of road in real versus the one I see on the map so after 2-3 days I choose the right one that I feel confident to explore more remote area. As I do wild camping and I am completely autonomous and bike in very remote area, I don’t really book anything in advance. so if I find anything, I just find a peaceful spot to camp or ask to people if I can camp near of their house. If i am going in big city I try to arrive early in the day so I can choose an hostel I want at day light, sometimes I book only the first night.
      For sure normally for small trip, I make good research previously with google map, google earth, internet and I try to spot hotel, camping and village to restock food in the area that I think to go. It is a work in process.....the first days are always special when we arrived but peoples are always very helpful in remote area. Have a good trip!

    How much water did you carry? It looks very dry, does your filter work well enough to drink filtered water from the streams?

    • @sylvainst-denis6992
      @sylvainst-denis6992  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Gabe, in this video Peru episode 2, we were there in September October, so it is the end of the dry season, yes it is dry but I’ll say over 4500 meters there is always a little stream coming from from the pass and we did at least 1 or 2 passes per day, normally we passed some houses or little village each day so if there is people, there is water. We normally carry 2 litres each, and try to camp near a stream, some days more but not often.
