Yes! Super square is the ONE AND ONLY! The best kind of sharp! I was very excited (and surprised) to run into this video. I wish more women who wear nails would understand this missing ingredient. Well done.

Suzie! Thank you so much for this video! I've had that "muffin top" issue for a while now and couldn't figure out why it was looking like that. Thanks for explaining it, I'll keep it in mind!

Everything I know about nails I learned from you my dear Susie, I've watched your videos over and over again just to do my own nails at home. I am still having trouble nail forming, not just myself but also my clients and it takes so much of my time but it never turns out just right. I wish you would make a video how to form every single shape and what kind of forms to use, that would be so helpful, you just have a way of explaining things that just sits with me right.
Thank you for all the hard work and for every advice, don't ever stop! ❤

Suzie describes in a way that I clearly understand and it is really helpful that camera man captures exactly what Suzie is doing so that I can see the details. You two are a great team!

I loved square nails in the early 2000s. I moved on to stiletto and coffin, but nothing beats a sharp square nail. Thanks for the tutorial.

Yep! Ya gotta look at the nail from every angle! A good light helps too. This video takes me back to all of the times I figured out these exact little tricks myself! It brings a smile to my face☺️

I must say that I love that you are doing a refill in a pouch. Less plastic waste, which is such an unfortunate byproduct of so much of the nail industry. I hope to see more eco-friendly releases coming to the market soon. I have seen the seaweed gel in some places, but I wonder how long before that type of product is more widely produced.

This is the shape I always ask for and have gotten a handful of times! I would have to go home and fix them because the person was not understanding what I wanted. That was with pictures even. I finally just started doing them myself. You do a brilliant sharp square!

I’m teaching myself the efile and it’s very helpful on that sweet spot. My mail plates are deep in my cuticles so they can get sore with all that filing. I do take a file and under file at the edge to take the sharp points off or they will snag on clothing etc, I find holding the finger straight and the file vertical to the free edge will give a great square!

I was a nail tech when you were and still love square! But it fits the shape of my nail itself. It’s the same width at the cuticle, sides and free edge. So it looks best I think. But they are a bugger with wearing off my corners! The gels are not strong enough compared to acrylic to prevent that wear. I have to say I also perfected the shape but that’s due to having the mail shape I have. So many nail techs back then had much wider nails than they should have because of not filing in that sweet spot! That will narrow that mail right down. Great video! You explained it perfectly!

    Hi, Susie!
I've been watching your videos for a while now, and I really appreciate how informative they are. Thank you so much, for sharing your expertise!
I'm a DIY-er (mostly tips+dip, dip with no tips, or silk wraps), and I'm wishing to go back to my natural nails.
My problem is that my tips and dip tend to rip off. The silk wraps don't last, either. If I do dip only, it's better, but I still have problems with adhesion. I think I have naturally moisturized and flexible nails.
Also, my natural nails tend to take a lot of damage and are not all that strong to begin with. This pulls me back in to doing some sort of overlay, even though I know the potential to continue damaging my nails is there.
I saw your video on acrylic nail removal, which was helpful. It made me wonder if maybe doing a dip on short nails and thinning the overlay might support my nails until they grow out.
My question is: how can I reinforce my nails while the weak parts grow out? Could you do a video covering the options for going natural after nail weakening has occurred?

These nails require much more skill because you have to have the same thickness at all angles down the barrel, from end, and both sides. I get ya girl! I still do it and with gels it’s a pain. But just switched to a polygel/ hybrid and I’m in love! I’ll see if they are strong enough.

Yup I found out about that little secret of taking the bulk off the top which can be distorting your shape. Happens on every shape. Ummm you're calling that first nail super square but and I don't think I'm the only one to think this but it looked super crooked. Lol. Not finished yet. Still about a minute left.

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yup I get that. Square is one of the hardest shapes to video and photograph. Because it only works on one angle and if you are slightly off the whole nail looks off. And because I am not looking through the lens at my nail the cameraman is, and his version of square will be different than my version of square. We shot it as best we can
