I think this explains why kayla almost exclusively builds blue suburbans... she hates all the orange swatches in the game so uses the contrasting colour to get as far away as possible from them.
It's funny cause blue and orange go well together in color theory
Conclusion: orange is Kayla’s least favorite color, and that’s why she always does blue suburbans.

Lol reminds me of the episode when my older brother was put on a med to try and help his ADHD when he was younger and it made him hate the colour orange. Like blackout, blind rage, he's gonna destroy it and anything it's ever loved kind of hate. He sat at the back of the class opposite the door, and saw a kid in the class across the hall in the same spot wearing an orange shirt, he got up, went into the other class and started trying to rip the shirt off of him. The teacher tried to separate them but she was also wearing orange so he started beating her. A different teacher came to drag him down to the office and along the whole way he was ripping everything orange off the walls.
We had to hide everything orange in our house, toys, clothes, knickknacks, even the orange balls out of our mini inflatable ball pit. We couldn't even watch any tv or movies because of it. The doctors were like 'Just give it some time, the side affects will wear off'.
Um no, he's got enough problems and reasons for expulsion at school from his Asperger's because of his destructiveness, mischievousness, evil scientist/mechanical tendencies and that his outlet when he was overwhelmed or stressed was to hulk out.
He always felt so bad after he calmed down, and got guilty and disappointed in himself cause all he wanted was to be the loving, friendly boy he usually is. It was so hard on him and this only made it worse because it made his outbursts more frequent.
This was when he was in 2nd grade btw, he just turned 25 this week and he's done a lot better since his mid-late teens lol, the meds were changed very quickly.

@@Iluvpie6 Ya it was so weird. I guess it was some sort of psychosis/mental break that was triggered by the colour. We were just as flabbergasted.

Personally I love the vampire pack, especially the diagonal thin wood floor. Although, I'm a goth who has a soft spot for Victorian architecture, so I'm more than a little biased

Agree vampire and wizard pack is one of my favorites. They look so good when you are using it in Victorian houses
and gothic is also a build style is i think similar to victorican but idk but i think you would like (not bc you’re goth lol)

I LOVE the bathtub from C&D! It looks like a old fashion copper tub! It's the only one that looks big enough for a TALL person to actually have a nice bath in!! I use it ALL the time!

As is, it kinda looks like someone violently vomited onto a wall and it turned into melted stone around the mirror. Then they shoved crystals into the bottom to hide their shame, haha. But it's meant to look uncanny and weirdly natural compared to a normal fireplace; it certainly looks like you'd need magic to create it. XD

you should redo this challenge, but instead of everything being things you hate, pick one item per room (ex. a couch that you hate) and then decorate the rest of the room around it to make it look it look good.
The problem with a lot of things is that the colours are so oversaturated.
Maybe try 5 random items you despise and then base your house around the style of those? :D

I quite liked this. The house certainly has the 1970s “swinger pad” vibe which I think you unknowingly did a beautiful job replicating (a style I hat though). The fireplace at 06:55 is the exception, it is an 1890s-1910s ‘Art Noveau’ style. That is my preferred time period as a historian, but not the Art Nouveau style. The fireplace is supposed to look like a tree. It is based off of a real fireplace by a well known designer whose name escapes me, only Adolf Loos comes to mind and it was not him. Had you put the hedge brick fireplace with exposed chimney on the brick feature wall I would have to say you had done a near perfect unknowing replica. As for the dine out chairs, we have a set like that, in red, in our 1950 Pullman dining car, which has pepto-Bismal pink walls and an egg crate ceiling.

Okay so this was on my recommendation videos and I'm watching this, thinking about creating a family of elders and their adult child who ALL have kitschy and retro tastes(this is their childhood home that NEVER got renovated). The parents are retired and the child is an eccentric artist or something.
Which is AMAZING since I never want to play with elders that much so thank you for this house lol.

I've been binging her channel for like 3 days and this is the most creative and vibrant build I've seen so far.

Out of all the grammar/spelling on the internet to correct, this was an odd choice. I don't think it's "rock bottom" anyway.
Also, from Merriam-Webster: Funner and funnest have seen usage as real words for over a century, but neither are formally entered in the dictionary (yet). In fact, fun wasn't even an adjective describing something enjoyable until the 19th century, and from there its superlative forms eventually emerged to be argued over.

The whole house has to be decorated with the color black. Interior Design, landscaping, the roof, the kitchen sink, everything! If the color black is an option then that's what you're using!

No offense to me. 😂 Two each their own. She used that weird, sculpture-ball light thing I once used with my build at 5:12, but I used it in a lobby inside a high-rise office building, so it looked more modern and contemporary on the inside, and it looked fine to me. :3

I know you are the professional sims player, but quick tip: if you want to frame an unframed canvas, get a framed painting of the right size and bring it forward from the wall enough so the canvas isnt sticking out a bunch but you cant see the og painting. This also works with light switches to make fancy light switches. Also for the shelf on the lamp, use the 9 key to raise the item up to sit on the shelf
You know what I hate about this house? It's actually cohesive with itself, all the components are horrible but they work so well together. It's awful, I love it.

I really wanted to watch this one, because I think we have totally different aesthetics! But omg, all thrown together like that with no visual pause is... a LOT, haha. I love orange wood, and this house totally feels like a very 70s house with like a honeycomb theme in orange, and then the family added some stuff in the 90s. Which means I LOVE it, but to most people yes, it causes pain XD
I really love the profusion of mixes of styles, like Victorian, or I guess midcentury + victorian forms with neon colors, and stuff!! Where it went into mod and then right before the worst of the 70s is the sweet spot.
I really enjoyed this to see another creator's preferences, you playing around with stuff you usually avoid, and and seeing things I like to help decide what packs have the stuff I dig! Thanks for sharing your stuff!
