I thought of David Byrne too and Lou Reed, but after a while it occurred to me it was similar to the 'Dunedin Sound' in New Zealand: Toy Love, The Chills and The Clean, for example. Those lovely lazy jangly guitars.

Nothing like a two guitar band. PC reminds me of Brian Jonestown Massacre because in the work of both you hear so much familiar music, yet it's new. This song has Television written all over it.

Had high hopes for PC. First rock n roll band out of the US for 30 yrs. Alas they've gone all mature and crafted. Better when their stuff was hewn with hatchets. Merely good when they good have been great.

really don't get the hype around this group. like people have said, they sound like the talking heads... EXCEPT THE TALKING HEADS ALREADY SOUND LIKE THE TALKING HEADS. why anyone would listen to this when you can just listen to the talking heads is beyond me.

I hear alot of other Influences. it's like pavement doesn't make music anymore but if you show me a band that sounds like pavement and makes new music well fuck I'm gonna enjoy that shit lol
breakfastmachine this is really one of the few songs on the album that really has a strong TH vibe (and it is very strong for sure). Other songs like the title track Human Performance, I Was Just Here, and Berlin Got Blurry feel like they pull from a lot of different places.
Why are people comparing this band to the velvet underground? , for a start they can't write songs and are very boring. The v.u wrote some of the most heartfelt, intricate and interesting songs with top lyrics. Most unlike this surge,just awful.
