The engine was designed for 10W30 then they dropped the weight down to 5w20 for fuel economy with no changes to bearing clearance. 20 weight is too thin. 5w30 for me, always.

I have a 2009 3.8 jk, i did transmission and engine oil change, did you ever get a new tranny oil pan with a drain bolt? Because the oem doesn’t have a drain which is pretty dumb so you make a mess

I think we just reused the old transmission pan.
