I like how quiet this one is. It sort of parallels Super Mario 64's in a way where it progressively got more and more complex. This one already has the complex drum track, but it still sounds dark and empty (in an intentional way). Good job.
Klaty What I did was take the music file out of the original rom, convert it to MIDI and simply replace the instruments with HQ ones. Therefore the pitch is technically exactly the same as in the original version. However, xylophone sounds in general are prone to pitch distortion when going in the low register. In short, the notes are the same, but the due to the instruments' slightly different natures, they sound different.
ValtteriValtteri24 Yes, I know. I fiddle around with MIDIs myself, I even try to play some songs. All I was thinking was that if you could've fixed that. And that's how most remixes are done, depending on how well they're known and what platform they're on. (e.g. GBAMusRiper [sic], which can rip GBA MIDIs/sfx, or VGMTrans, which can rip SNES's SPCs, PS2 sfx, GBA MIDIs/sfx, and DS MIDIs/sfx) I only wish programs could rip soundfonts... I know instruments are part of the sfxs, but it'd take me quite a while to compile them into a soundfont.
the reason for this (i think) is that the xylophone sound that was put in this version of the song has more high pitched sounds than lower sounds in the sound wave, and when this sound is lowered to the original pitch of the original MIDI file, the bass (low end) is so low that it is barely inaudible, giving way for the high end to screw up the pitch.
one of the most underrated mario themes ever

Slay
Sounds like a song that could be played in hell.
Sounds like Early Underground
We need this song on a MSU-1 Patch please
for when the extended version?
One of the percussions sound... off. Maybe not offnote but definitely corrupted.
Otherwise great.
+Klaty Are you talking about the xylophone or the bongo drum?
ValtteriValtteri24 I'm not good at distinguishing what they are, but I think it's the xylophone. The one that is *constantly* making sound.
