- We see a few trains through Darlington Station on a summers day in July 1991 including 5 locos running light and 3 Class 47's doing a bit of a shunt after the rear loco couldn't be started to head down to Thornaby!
Speedy propelling at 1.50. Awesome bit of Clag.
Nice vid mate, really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing. 👍😎
Well after the amount of time he had spent unsuccessfully trying to start the loco on the other end, I guess he was getting a bit fed up by then!
Great content on this one. I was puzzled by the 47 move but see there was a problem with starting one up.
Yes I seem to remember they couldn't start the one on the back hence why they had to do the shunt!
Made for some entertainment!
0:35 nice catch of FIVE light engines, one of them still in BR blue!
1:12 the livery on the first engine looks nice!
2:50 looks like this was the place for light engines!
3:47 I've never seen a class 91 NOT on the ECML before!
5:56 that HST motor is rather loud!
7:20 nice rev-up sound!
Nice video! Very different than today's British Trains!
Thank you and I was quite lucky the couple of hours I was there.
I hope you have checked out some of my other stuff from the same period.
Oh and Darlington is infact on the ECML !!!!
I’m no expert but that last driver on the Spoon was on his way home.
@@BenDover-ln6ns love the way he Propelled fro m the rear loco at 1.50,,, proper Driver. Couldnt do it these days.
Not Allowed without a risk Assessment lol. 😂👍
The good old days propelling loco's at full power, screaming HST's,
Yes for sure a bit of everything as there used to be in those days!
Cracking Video. Worthy of more than 6 comments ,,, c'mon people . 👍
Lol not everyone's thing commenting!
We're them 47s for scrap? Was they going thornaby? Strange move
That was because the driver was unable to start the loco on the rear to head down to Thornaby so they ran around the loco off the front!
May be the duffs were off to Tinsley for repair ?
@@davidclark7988 obviously Duff Duffs though. Lol.😂👍
