Something you missed about the Osprey is that you can wear it on both shoulders by hooking the sling strap to one of the two hook rings at the bottom of the bag, which is why the bag's compartments have zippers that travel from left and right, making them accessible if you wear the bag on either shoulder.
Calling the Daylight sling "junk" is way off-base. Personal experience with the bag. It was used all-day everyday for two years. Outdoors use in central Brazil (not campus or office) and it is as solid as the day it was new. It all works. No wear to speak of other than some dirt-grime because it was used outside, hard sweaty use. So saying it is cheap is just wrong. Is the patagonia thicker...maybe. I like patagonia fine enough. I'm simply saying that the Osprey is solid. It is thick enough. it is built well. No issues with stitching, elastic, zippers, etc.. solid, light weight, comfortable.
@@SergeyKasimov It's just made of different material. Osprey is well known brand that is high quality just like Patagonia. They also have a lifetime guarantee and will repair defects.
My perspective would be to think about your average daily load. Osprey was large enough for me. But you might want the slightly larger capacity of the Patagonia.
I've been trying a bunch of bags and backpacks recently and came across this video. I compared these bags this past week and i personally like the Osprey. I found it lighter and nicer for just just being out and about. Being able to strap to both sides is nice. Again, for out around town the Daylite felt better. Atom a bit larger and material feels a bit heavier, might be a bit better for a long hike or if you need a bit more storage. Both bags felt nice side by side, neither felt cheap. Both have nice zippers and comfort for me was about the same. Certainly neither should be called "junk".
I have the old model of the osprey daylite and its much better to carry than the new model, but i found out about the new model of Patagonia atom have a more reliable pockets on the front and on the strap so im ordering one tommorow so i can switch on using them both.. i love both products❤
I just ordered both of these from REI I really liked the Patagonia but don’t like that I can’t switch sides. They didn’t have an Osprey, when they come I’ll decide. I’m already thinking the Patagonia 🤔 I can put an organizer in it also. Thank you for this video

Having both of them side by side you will change your mind about quality

Daylight is the better bag because it’s ambidextrous and opens wider for better accessibility. It’s lighter too.
