    "You'll never be the father I am." Always speaks to me. Especially as a father who no longer speaks with his own dad but wants to do well for his kid.

    As a music guy, I never really paid much attention to the lyrics but, after these explanations by Phil, I have come to appreciate his talent. These lyrics are genius.

      Thats what I was referring to as "being sober" also CanyoneroTimbo. I don't think smoking herb is something that should even be in a drug category. And for Phil,smoking pot only would be a HUGE success. If that's the case,I'm proud of him and happy for him.

    I have some weird coincidences with Phil. 1 being a VERY bad back which led to narcotic addiction and 2 my relationship or lack there of with my father is eerily familiar. 25 years hits the spot.BULLS EYE!

      @sepulchureXmcmlxii 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I think a lot of male/guy Pantera fans can relate to Phil. Lord knows I can; back issues/injury, narcotics problem, and of course major relationship issues with my old man. It IS very eerie. I'm in the same boat as you bro.

      As do I, the molestation as a child, a heroin addict, a falling out with my Dad shortly before he passed (I still resent the fact that I can't remember the last time I told him I loved him before he passed) and legitimate back issues too. My heroin addiction came years and years after being prescribed the strongest pharmaceutical grade pain killers you can get. I have been clean for over 4 months now from any opiod. My back still hurts pretty much constantly but I try to manage now with only Lyrica. It doesnt fully take it away but its better than nothing at all and most definitely better than being chemically dependent. I dont think I can fathom anything else being as evil as child molestation and heroin/opiod addiction when you have legitimate back problems. Shew.

    As a huge Pantera fan, I just couldn't leave New Orleans without dining at Anselmo's Restaurant during my trip there for Mardi Gras 2003. I met Phil's parents, and couldn't believe that such mild mannered people gave birth to the man who became one of the most volatile hardasses in music history. They were very nice, but you could tell they didn't want to discuss their son. I heard that he has since kinda patched things up with them. Unfortunately, he has humiliated them yet again with his "White Power" incident at Dimebash. Smh.

    • @ricksanchez6294

      Not that Phil is a racist, but God forbid anyone make a mistake, let alone a white man expressing that opinion (there is a difference that both Phil and I acknowledge as the difference between ride, and supremacy, which both of us are proud, not supremacists). Phil by his own admission has stated it was a (bad) joke about white wine he used to piss off and trigger some hecklers at his show. Wrong execution of the right idea. Again, not saying I'm a racial supremacist, it any other race besides the white race can say whatever racial power they want and nobody gets offended, but the second a white man says it, the whole goddamn MSM falls onto it's own intellectually retarded blade, and uses racially obsessed SJW NPC snowflakes to propagate the whole narrative.
