If you react to anything else from the Far Beyond Driven album, I’ll be here. That album is my favorite album by them. It’s a bit too extreme for some people but, I’ve been listening to extreme forms of Metal (Death and Black) since the mid to late 80s so this album was right up my alley. The song that’s really insane from this album is Use My Third Arm but, really the last half of this album is a tour de force from the song “Hard Lines and Sunken Cheeks” all the way to the end which is their cover of Black Sabbath’s “Planet Caravan.” This song is smack in the middle of all that madness and the songs just bleed into each other and get angrier and angrier. It’s awesome. 😂

Lords Unmatched! MORE PANTERA!! "Is there anything like this?" Nope. That's the cool thing about Pantera. All of their songs are unique, but you can tell that it's Pantera. Try Slaughtered, It Makes Them Disappear, Suicide Note Part II (Part I is not musically heavy, but heavy in subject matter, and you really should do 'em together), The Great Southern Trendkill, The Underground in America, Sandblasted Skin, 13 Steps to Nowhere and Strength Beyond Strength.

I bought this on tape the day it came out. I had a 1200 watt system in a 79 trans am...when the end of this so g took off with the "we're fucking you back" I damn near ripped my steering wheel right off the whole column. Got I miss being 17 again.

that opening riff is one of my favs. so bluesy and southern. and the outro riff is so nasty, with vinnie switching between half time and fast time

almost, "Good Friends and a Bottle of Pils" is a filler track that is not really in the tone of the album, besides this one, the album is my Pantera's favorite. I'm a Pantera Fan but it might be the only song that I jump when I'm listening to this album. All of the rest is just incredible.

If you like this, check out "To Build a Mountain" by Crowbar. They formed in the same new orleans scene along with Pantera and their band is badass. They do lots of slow stuff.

Love that you’ve found this band but gotta say you started with a deep track? Not sure how you landed on this one. This is a later album when they did start going more extreme. Pantera might be a bit of an acquired taste for the uninitiated starting out. You might want to go back and start with more groovy “Cowboys from Hell”, “Mouth for War”, “Cemetery Gates”, “Revolution Is My Name”, “Yesterday Don’t Mean Shit”, “Walk”, “A New Level”….I could go on…😏🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥

Try some of their mellower songs with singing vocals. You may never be a big fan but it's likely there are some songs you'll really enjoy.
      Try:
      We'll Meet Again
      *Cemetery Gates*
      *The Sleep*
      This Love
      Hollow
      Suicide Note Part 1
      Floods
      Avoid The Light.

No problem. They were an incredibly talented band. They could play anything, they just chose to be very heavy most of the time. Start with the songs in *bold* as they arent very heavy and both have incredible guitar solos.

Cool. Next I would suggest CEMETERY GATES. Its widely considered to be their best song & one of the greatest vocal performances in metal history. The guitar solo is regularly mentioned on all time lists. Just make sure you listen to the full 7 minute song (not the music video).
