Beautiful car. Was on the ropes between this and the CX-5. Eventually went with the latter for more space. If you are in the market for a Mazda, you can't go wrong with either.
Great video as always, Lisa! I love the enthusiasm and the information you put into the videos! :) I love Mazda Connect NAV because it doesn't act separately, it will monitor speed and alert if you're going over speed limit in certain areas, and it's connected to the HUD which if you have a GT model in any Mazda vehicle, you'll get turn-by-turn directions. Also, don't forget that right now Mazda Canada (not U.S.) has "Shift into Spring" event in which they'll give *free* complimentary NAV!
***** I think that would be very useful, plus you can get like a Go Pro "stick" that the passenger can hold and bring it close to the gauges to show the lights and stuff. It would be dangerous to try and do that all when you're the only one and driving!!
Thank you for an excellent presentation which helped me a great deal. I really enjoy the CX5 however the navigation system needs major improvement in my view. Having used Garmin this has a ways to go. Thanks again.
+JR007 I would love to. I need someone to use as an example. The Nav cards are for the specific cars and users. When I have another client in need I will ask and document. :)
Thank you that was very helpful. One concern. My screen doesn't seem to show very much area. I was hoping that there was someway to adjust the screen so that it would show a larger radius or a smaller radius. For example, if I wanted to see you not just what is 100 yards in front of me, but maybe a half a mile. Thank you
Yes. Follow these steps. Close the on screen NAV menu so only the red arrow is showing in the bottom left of the screen. Twist your HMI Commander knob to zoom in/out or toggle around. Hit the back key to return to normal. Cheers!
Only problem I have with this is that in Europe, not all addresses have a street name. Many places are just referenced by Town and Number. With this navigation the street name is a mandatory field making it almost unusable in Europe.
+ALQaSmi AAm I'm not sure if Mazda will bring the hatch to the north american market. If anything happens to the Mazda6 it'll likely be a diesel. I predict we will see that turbo in a new speed3.
Yes it continues but the screens are separate. The only thing it shows you is the street names as you pass by at the top of the radio screen if you are not on navigation.
Hey Lisa, excellent vids thx. Can you provide more info on the traffic HD feature? Does it work in Canada? Toronto etc? How useful is it? Can you show this in your next vid?
HD Traffic is not available for the North American market. It runs of the HD radio feed, but there is currently not enough support for this function in our region. Hopefully we get some more companies that feed this functionality. It is a great option to have. So far I have only found one video of it in .. I think it was Puerto Rico or somewhere overseas. Sorry I can't be of more help at this time.
+Tina Beth Nav is $425 now with the Mazda connect system and doesn't use mobile data. For the person who takes lots of adventures or plan a long trip it is a great accessory to invest in.
I’ve had my 2017 Mazda CX-5 for 5 years and I have to say that the Infotainment system, particularly the NAVIGATION system is plain awe full. I’ve stopped using it and have been using my phone for my music and gps. It’s NOT a “cool” system.
+xxgg You can mute it by pressing the volume button down. And use voice commands to say 'Display off' if you'd like the screen off. I'm not certain how to turn radio off while using voice guidance in Navigation...I don't think this is possible. They will both be using the speakers.
Yup, there is radio off. Only way is to mute. I really do hope Mazda will release a software update to allow following features... -Long press volume button to turn off radio. -Long press main control dial to do "display off" or "display off with clock" (user selectable). What do you think? It's only software, can't be that hard.
First video out of roughly 10 watched where I actually see the person show us what the actual NAV system looks like while it is being used, thank you.

+Michael Lee Thanks Michael! I totally neglected the ADD Nav function. Future video to come!
***** Cool, I'm looking forward to it! Maybe you can do a video on the "Technology Package" where you show how they work, and how to use them!
I agree. The hard thing is figuring out the camera dynamics. I think I need a go pro.

awesome, thanks!
speaking of software updates, could you please do a vid going through the nav update process?
+JR007 I would love to. I need someone to use as an example. The Nav cards are for the specific cars and users. When I have another client in need I will ask and document. :)
Thank you for the Great video. I would like to ask how to get rid of the EXITS popup on the right because it is covering quarter of the screen.
ALaa NJ That should be in the NAV settings under points of interest. Uncheck the gas stations or other things you might be seeing.
Great video, thanks.

Is there split screen? OR can I listen to radio while I navigate?
When Mazda will produce Mazda 6 hatchback new? And what about the new engine turbo do you will be added to the Mazda 6?

Cool! I like the phone number part #itsthelittlethings
My new 2016.5 Grand touring does not function 3 D. Screen is identical to 2 D mode except for the cursor location....
I have a 2017 3 Touring without Nav, to get nav do I only need to buy the sd card, or is there something else the dealer may have to install as well?
Nothing extra to install . All you need to do is buy the SD card.
does the navigation still continue when you go to another menu such as the entertainment or settings menus?
Yes it continues but the screens are separate. The only thing it shows you is the street names as you pass by at the top of the radio screen if you are not on navigation.
thank you

Just to clarify i think this avail in the US isnt it?
hi car lady Lisa if I buy the SD card will it work in the 2016 mazda 6 sport
Yes. Any Mazda with the Mazda Connect touch screen will be compatible. You simple insert your card into the slot in the armrest.
Thanks so much
I seldom use the navigation. If you have a smart phone it's not worth the $3,000 but the rear view camera is useful at times

hello the price of the sd card please ? (spain)
You'll have to speak to your local dealer. Here in Canada they generally go for $425 + tax.

android auto please.
Slight off topic. How do I turn off the radio?

Sounds like an idea to me. I'll send your feedback to Mazda through my portal.
