    People are always quick to get rid of something because something shiny and new comes out even when its not needed.

    I have been a Mac user since the 84 Macintosh. I bought the m1 mini when it came out, and for home use, i.e. web browsing, TH-cam some home work it was ok. But for anything more like my consulting business where I have many tabs open, excel, photoshop and word open it crashed the mini. I bought the base Mac Studio base with 1 tb drive for 1650 us on apple refreshed and can’t stop it. No fan noise no heat, one a month I clean bottom and back to keep air flow. This is that good price point for a powerful work computer without the need for a 6000$ pro which would be way over kill. They need to keep this model.

      I do think the Mac Studio should stay in the lineup as well. With the M3 chip coming in the next couple of years to Apple products, I think it could make a return then! Also side note, you’re one of the few that clean their PC regularly 😅

    Oh dear. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Now do a video called Mac Mini M2 Pro - a graceful exit. You’ll be able to make a career of this doing it every Apple announcement.

    I have the M1 Studio Max, base model, and it's an excellent device that will meet my needs for years. I don't have any cooling problems, and every other week I gently vacuum the bottom cooling vents (with the unit turned off, of course) to pull as much lint and dust as possible out of the computer. I monitor the temps with an app called Macs Fan Controls, set at a constant value of 1100 RPM, and the temps always stay in the low 30s.

    • @DunnwithTech
      @DunnwithTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s good to hear! I think a lot of people neglect cleaning/vacuuming the cooling vents regularly which causes some issues. That app is a good tip though for people with that kind of setup!

      @@DunnwithTech As soon as I found out the Studio was so difficult to open I started doing the vacuuming. I wish it was easier to open, like the older Mac minis.

    What’s the problem of the cooling system of the Mac Studio?

    • @DunnwithTech
      @DunnwithTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The only issue is that it’s perforated on the back and the bottom so the heat can exit and depending on the type of workload, the Studio would overheat at times.

      @GTphotofilm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@DunnwithTech I heard about the problem to clean it on the inside. Those fan can suction dust but not hear about overheating problem until now. Thanks for the information.

    I need the Studio for monitor support and more RAM and it was a welcome upgrade from my M1 mini last year. My Studio normally runs around 2%-40% CPU and I have no thermal issues at all. My production setup uses about 20% base during the day and my other stuff uses the rest. I would like to get more than 32 GB of RAM for my next desktop as Apple added virtualization support in Ventura and I take advantage of it running Windows now. I can't run my production stuff and Windows at the same time though. 48 GB would solve that. I don't really need new equipment, probably for the next five years. But I'm always looking to be more efficient at what I do and sometimes newer hardware helps with that.

    • @DunnwithTech
      @DunnwithTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s terrific! Yea efficiency is really the focus for M2 versus M1 but sounds like you’re good to go for at least a couple years

    Stop believing Mark Gurman's "rumors" that he makes up in his head. There's more chance of an M2 Mac Studio coming out this year than an M2 Mac Pro.

    The Mac Studio needs separation from the Mac mini. In addition to the M2x or M3x CPU the next Mac Studio should come with 25Gb Networking and the SDXC card slot should be replaced with a CFast slot

    Great Video. I think that the Mac Studio would still be a better solution if you're doing a lot of professional or semi pro type of work due to potential heat issues and size of the mac Mini. And the Studio is almost DEAD SILENT. I love mine, and only on extremely rare occasions does the fan even come on as far as I can tell. To be totally honest, most casual users would be extremely happy with the M1 mac mini in my opinion. And I think the pro users would be more happy with the extra headroom and ventilation that comes with the Mac Studio despite it having the M1 Max chip compared to the M2 mini. Thanks again for the great video! Just came across your channel and look forward to viewing more of your work! 👍🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾
