The kite festival! 🤩 Oh my, you guys are lucky.
2:37 Even if the man uses the coastal road, he would still have not less than 9 hours drive from Bintulu to Kuching.
3:25 Muslim Sarawakians tend to be a bit more relax about hijab wearing.
5:15 Malays in Sarawak speaks a different Malay DIALECT. Not just a different accent. The Malay language spoken in Miri will be closer if not the same as the Brunei Malay, distinct from the one spoken in Kuching (or First Division and some parts of Sri Aman).
6:05 That was one of the agreed terms for Sarawak (and Sabah) to form the federation of Malaysia. Sabah & Sarawak (then Singapore) were partners in the federation, not states like states in the peninsula. Both have autonomy in certain areas.
14:01 That’s called the “gendang pampat”, a traditional Iban drum team. Almost gone until a group of Ibans decided to revive it and gave classes to the younger generations so as to keep it alive. The word “Kantu” you saw behind them is a sub-ethnic name if I recall correctly.
18:15 Yes, the RELAs are “volunteers” (they get a small fee). And, no, the don’t carry weapons. 😆 That’s not part or their job scope. They’re there to keep things in order.
    22:56 So much fun! 🤩

And also youll find people in Sarawak freely to do anything they want include Muslim in sarawak drink too and eat together same table with us other race in sarawak only if they want to do so. And yes sarawak gov in fact encourage everyone to mingle together. Sarawak has come a long way but I did witness myself saw it on my own eyes sit together in kopitiam with my partner and saw Muslim people in the same kopitiam with us 20 years ago all this. Probably happen earlier than that God knows when. I'm so proud to be sarawakian 😊

Hi guys, it's me again. Just visited Bintulu 2 weeks ago, particularly Tg Batu beach during noon. The beach looks quite blueish that time.
P.S. Kuching-Sibu trip as in this video takes 7 hrs by bus, own car takes less 7hrs if you drive 100kmph, less than 6 hours if you drive 140 kmph and without traffic congestion, particularly at night

Nice to know I remembered when I was young we used to travel Kuching to Miri and we stop all sort of places. Particular my favourite was going to swim, so when we come across like public wild river/waterfall area we stop by and picnic hehe. I love the old times. Sorry I can't remembered the name of the place now it's between Kuching to Sri-Aman maybe I forgot. There more every where in Sarawak Sabah and whole Malaysia in fact. It's the secret gems of Malaysia people just need to discover it 😊 Come to think of it Moonshine and he's family can't go because all this special place need a transport to go to...

Sarawak East Malaysia is the most different part of Malaysia cos there's more christian than any other religion compare to West Malaysia and Sabah. The population of Sarawak is 60% Dayaks or more follow by the Chinese than the Malay. The Sarawakian Malays are the most open minded Malay in Malaysia. As for the Chinese, the looks are a close similarities to the Dayaks. Hard to distinguish.

if i may add ~ and the main purpose of the clause is so that a person from semenanjung doesnt freely relocate to Sarawak or Sabah to take up a job there (in the process deprive a native resident in Sarawak & Sabah of the scarce job opportunity) - the presumption in 1963 was job opportunities were more readily available in semenanjung than in sarawak & sabah. ✌️

I don't feel special anymore since most of Sarawak Sabah the old forest been chop down massively everywhere just to grow palm trees. Selfish government. Oils not enough but they greed from clearing all the old forest. So or later the whole Borneo will be gone... I notice the big change within 30-35 years.
