nice video! I find that just mixing the glitter and the gel together and then applying it to the nails makes for a nice smooth application. more gel than glitter on a palette mixed and then applied helps it to self level and its not required to put more than one coat of topcoat
FatPeanutsFat hey! Thanks for the tip! There are indeed a few ways you can do this :)
That’s perfect flat and quick thx I only do. Couple fingers I done it w polygel I don’t like poly gel I use press on gel soft gel and I paint on my design simple glitter is easy but chunky glitter is not
That’s a great idea thank you for the tip ❤️
Thx
I love gletter
Aneta Bazdaveloska gletterrrrrrrrr 😂😂
This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
Ok. I am late to this party. I just started doing gel nails on myself a few months ago and have been missing glitter nails. This video has convinced me that I can do it! Thank you!
Ofcourse you can do it! Have fun :)
Hello,i did base, gel, and on gel polish i put glitter,i did not press, and i put over top coat
My glitter lost and look rusty and feel rusty, what i did wrong? It’s black glitter
Black glitter doesn't look the same when you apply anything over the top.l it loses its effect unless its holographic. I'm not sure what you mean by rusty, but if you've used a glitter that is not specifically for nails, or cosmetics, they can discolour.
Wish I’d seen this video a few days ago I did a set of glitter nails black base and electric green glitter and it was sharp and bumpy and awful I’ll save this to my favourites thank you so much 😊
Oh no, it's always the way isn't it! There will be another opportunity for sure ☺️ Thanks for the positive feedback :)
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie your welcome hun xx
You can not make it smooth with non gel top coat. I have tried 6 diff brands. Gel is the only kind of top coat you can use to smooth the roughness over.
Anyone have trouble with a smooth rough area, apply another coat over that are but then a thin layer everywhere else because it can make it bumpy and then raised up if you don't do the whole nail. Stupid but it happens.
I've had someone that just finished their "course" do my nails with glitter and it was all lumpy and shaped gross and stuff.. 70 dollars, luckily my social worker paid bc I would not have, the glitter would get caught on stuff and it was terrible. A very lumpy surface, even though the glitter was fine particles compared to this type, I ended up fileing them into a stiletto shape and removed all the glitter, some people shouldnt be doing nails, thank you for this video, I cant wait to make my nails sparkly 💖
Hiya, yea I hear this a lot doing clients. People are always shocked when I take the extra time to make sure the nail is slick and smooth. Not everyone has the same standards sadly. Sparkle on my friend! Roll yourself in glitter 😂
Might I suggest a rubber base coat instead. It’s thick, so when you use chunky glitter, it’ll sink better
Yea, that would work great! a rubber topcoat would be even better. :)
Thanks for this tutorial! I have struggled with this
I used hard gel, then file it after coming out of the lamp. Filing it made it smoother, even and glossier.
yes, thats a great way to do it!
I’m here watching as Iv just got in to chunky glitter so any tips would be great! I can work with glitter but I think it could be flatter so I’m working on that 💖
Pumpkins’s Nail Station hiya! It's a bit finicky. You really just got to look at it from the side and make sure it's all layed down as flat as it can be a good thick rubber topcoat helps as well!
Nails with Courtney Crosbie I used a rubber base for the first coat ! As didn’t have a rubber top ! But I covered it in 2 nice and flat so thank u x
Pumpkins’s Nail Station perfect!
Love that lil stick
How long did you cure the top coat for
Hiya, 60 seconds in LED lamp. If you have a UV lamp, you need to cure for 2 minutes. Xo
Thank you looks lovely
Is buffing fine glitter press necessary? I’m seriously asking
If you're using a fine glitter, you don't usually have to buff it. There have been times that I have needed to though, just depending on the coverage of topcoat. Xo
4:0 "Apply lightly and liberally"
Well which is it? 😊
With a light touch , but liberal amount of polish. Its also called "floating the product" as I mentioned in the video. If you don't use a light touch, it won't cover the raised bits of glitter . It will just drag past them. Same if you dont use enough topcoat. So with a light touch, and a liberal amount.
Can you please tell me how long you put it under the light each time?
60 seconds for an LED Lamp. 120 seconds for a UV lamp. :)
Thank you! This is the video I was looking for, detailed but straight to the point. I got the glitter package from Amazon that smalls like fish hahaha and I can't wait to use it.
Yes! I'm so glad it helped :) the fishy smell goes away once you topcoat it! 😂
What lamp do you use for curing?
No idea what I used in this video, it was years ago but now I have a SUNUV LED Lamp. I think my version is the 5c. It has a pink cushion on top. Xo
Can you add a link to the glitter you used?
No sorry, it was a mix that I made my self from several others. :/
what is the stick that holds the tip??want to start doing nails
Hiya. It's called a gel stirring stick. You can find them on eBay ☺️
Had to use subtitles as the kids show music started to jar me 🙈
Sorry 😆 I don't know what I was thinking. I stopped adding music to videos but this is an old one x
I've just watched and I agree, its jarring. Why did I use that track for the whole five minutes?😂 So sorry x
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie omgosh I feel so bad, dont apologies 😢I watched regardless and am grateful for the post.. but yeah I'm sound sensitive Lol xx
Does this work only with non wipe top coat , or can it be done with wipe off top coat
You can do it with regular wipe off Topcoat too 🥰
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie thank you
So lovely
Margaret Howard thanks Margaret :)
good video, very nice
Hi just noticed that you filed the free edge at the end, would that not break the seal and allow moisture in, leading to pealing? Thanks
No. I don't file it all the way through, just enough to get rid of the rough bits.
Hi...what are you using to hold the nail
Hi! It's a gel stirrer stick with a bit of blu tak on it. 😂
Thanx love from the netherlands xxx 💖
