I have 2 of these units, for several years now, and they sound great, work over a long distance (200+ feet), are cost-effective and lightweight (great when I was traveling). There are newer versions out but this covers all the features and basic operations and some info is transferable to other wireless units, like 'gain staging'. Hope this helps, cheers!

Really useful. As a new XWS system owner, this has been invaluable.

Thank you for saying so! I did a quick one a while back on just the sync'ing for quick reference - th-cam.com/video/eBv0QTQ2Y64/w-d-xo.html

Great video, doesn't the setup work the same with a headset & receiver?

Transmitters from Sennheiser pretty much work the same, except on body pack transmitters, the sensitivity is in 3dB increments, for more precise level setting (the one have, anyway). Ceers!!

How many wireless mics can you use?

You can use multiple wireless units, as long as you plan the frequencies being used (far enough apart), but if you use more than 3 or4, you consider getting a sharkfin system to manage all the units.

please for the love of god, please dont keep sqelch off you want it about 9 o'clock. If the talent turns off the mic youll get a pop. having it at 9 o'clock will prevent that!

I start with the squelch off, then turn up a little after monitoring for intermittent static. I also tape the on/off switch and show the users the mute switch. Too much squelch can limit range so a bit is okay to use.
